Zoom: Online FILM INTENSIVE with Ross Shenker, Associate Casting Director, Kate Geller Casting

Ross Shenker is currently Associate Casting Director at Kate Geller Casting (Shiva Baby, Nine Days), where his primary focus is on independent film, new plays, and narrative podcasts.

Current and upcoming releases include: Molli & Max in the Future (SXSW select w/ Zosia Mamet), Drugstore June (w/ Esther Povitsky & Bill Burr), Cora Bora (SXSW select w/ Megan Stalter), Wilder Than Her (Brooklyn Horror FF select w/ Sunita Mani), and The Good Half (Universal Pictures w/ Nick Jonas). 

EVENT OVERVIEW:

The event will start off with an informative Q&A, followed by your presentation of the scene with a reader in a group. Be prepared to take feedback and adjustments.

This intensive is for adults and teens (13+).

WHAT TO PREPARE:

Please follow the procedures listed below:

• Please update your headshot and fill out the MY INFO section of your AC account upon registration.

• Arrive at least 10 MINUTES before your event is slated to start. Your host will give important information about the event at this time.

• Instructions and the ZOOM link for access to this online event will be emailed to you in advance. If you have not received the link by 12pm (EST) the day-of the event, please reach out to registration@actorsconnection.com at least one hour PRIOR to the start of class.

Ross Shenker

Ross Shenker is currently Associate Casting Director at Kate Geller Casting (Shiva Baby, Nine Days), where his primary focus is on independent film, new plays, and narrative podcasts.

Current and upcoming releases include: Molli & Max in the Future (SXSW select w/ Zosia Mamet), Drugstore June (w/ Esther Povitsky & Bill Burr), Cora Bora (SXSW select w/ Megan Stalter), Wilder Than Her (Brooklyn Horror FF select w/ Sunita Mani), and The Good Half (Universal Pictures w/ Nick Jonas). He is also Taylor Williams's Associate on a new work headed to Broadway. He holds a BA in Theater & Jewish Studies from Wesleyan University and an MFA in Performance Studies from the University of Louisville. He worked at IAG (fka APA) for 3 years in their Comedy and Talent Divisions.

He has taught and directed at U of L and UW-Madison in their respective Theater Departments. He is also a certified teacher candidate in the Michael Chekhov Acting Technique with the National Michael Chekhov Association.
