Zoom: 2 Week FILM/TV Online CLASS with RIKKI GIMELSTOB, Casting Director, Jonathan Strauss Casting

Tuesday, April 23, 2024, 7pm ET / 4pm PT

Now at Jonathan Strauss Casting, here's your chance to work with this CD whose credits include MERRY KISS CAM (HULU/MARVISTA), KEVIN CAN F**K HIMSELF (AMC), HELPSTERS (APPLETV+), THE LAST OG (TBS), Sarah Cooper and Cindy Chupack's Untitled Pilot (CBS), NOS4A2 (AMC), and numerous pilots for NBC, AMC and FOX. 

Currently, she's working on TWO TV series.

EVENT OVERVIEW:

Over the course of two weeks, Rikki will be working with you on how to bring your best work into your auditions. The goal will be to focus on what you have control over (presence, spontaneity, directability), and not the outcome of the audition. 

Week 1 -  Your Prepared DRAMATIC TV scene (no longer than 2 minutes)

Week 2 - Your Prepared COMEDIC Film or TV scene (no longer than 2 minutes)

This class is for adults and teens (17+).

PLEASE NOTE: If you've taken Rikki's class or intensive before, she asks that you wait at least 6 months before taking it again.

WHAT TO PREPARE:

For each class, please bring in your own scene of choice (no more than 2 minutes in length) that you feel best showcases your strengths as an actor. If you do not have your own scene, you can select a scene from the General Sides database (link located in your Actors Connection account upon registration).

Please email jess@actorsconnection.com your scene choice AS AN ATTACHMENT (file should be labeled YourName_CHARACTER) by 5pm (EST) the DAY BEFORE the event.

Please follow the procedures listed below:

• Please update your headshot and fill out the MY INFO section of your AC account upon registration.

• The room will be open 30 minutes before the event is scheduled to start. Please arrive at least 10 MINUTES before your event begins as your host will give important information about the event at this time.

• Instructions and the ZOOM link for access to this online event will be emailed to you in advance. If you have not received the link by one hour before the event, please reach out to registration@actorsconnection.com.

Rikki Gimelstob

Rikki is a New York based Casting Director currently casting two network television shows at Jonathan Strauss Casting. She has previously worked as a staff member at Telsey + Company in addition to Donna Grossman Casting and NBCUniversal.  

Select credits include: MERRY KISS CAM (HULU/MARVISTA), KEVIN CAN F**K HIMSELF (AMC), HELPSTERS (APPLETV+), THE LAST OG (TBS), Sarah Cooper and Cindy Chupack's Untitled Pilot (CBS), NOS4A2 (AMC), and numerous pilots for NBC, AMC and FOX. 

Rikki has also cast Spike Jonze’s “Changers: A Dance Story” and has contributed to the casting of St. Ann’s Warehouse’s productions “People, Places & Things” and the West-End transfer of “The Jungle.”  She also has experience casting union and non-union commercials, as well as print and voice-overs. Her favorite part of her job is coaching actors during their auditions to help them find their own unique take on the role.

A member of both the Casting Society of America and the Television Academy, Rikki is a graduate of the University of Michigan. She is also very involved with Cycle For Survival, a charity that raises money for rare cancer research at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
