NY Connection is a 3-Day SHOWCASE that’s jam packed with the GUARANTEED ATTENDANCE of INDUSTRY GUESTS who are the movers and shakers in the New York entertainment arena.

Whether you are considering a move to NYC or you already live here, this is the opportunity to guarantee yourself a place for networking, improving your audition skills and current material as well as showcasing your artistry and talent.

This is the perfect program for you to get your feet wet in the industry, introduce yourself to a wide variety of industry guests, capitalize on being a “fresh face” for new projects, be seen by some of New York’s Top Agents and Casting Directors and get a taste of what NYC may have in store for you and your future career.

For your agent showcases, you will receive both verbal and written feedback.

For this day, you will be assigned a scene by Jeffrey to prepare for his intensive. For your afternoon showcase, please prepare a film/TV scene of choice (2 minutes or less) that you feel best showcases your strengths as an actor. What to Prepare:

For this showcase, please prepare a 15-30 second piece of commercial copy and a film/TV scene of choice (2 minutes or less) that you feel best showcases your strengths as an actor. You can select Commercial Copy from our online files or bring your own and a scene from the General Sides database (link located in your Actors Connection account upon registration), OR bring in your own 2-3 page scene (2 minutes or less. 

Please email jess@actorsconnection.com your scene choice AS AN ATTACHMENT (file should be labeled YourName_CHARACTER) by 5pm (EST) the DAY BEFORE the event.

  • Please update your headshot and fill out the MY INFO section of your AC account upon registration.

  • Arrive at least 10 MINUTES before your event is slated to start. Your host will give important information about the event at this time.

Joey Montenarello

Joey Montenarello is a NY based Casting Director who casts for film and television. Coming off three years as the sole Casting Director responsible for spearheading the Film and TV arm at Stewart/Whitley, Joey has recently launched his own office, Montenarello Casting, where he will continue to cast and develop his current film projects.

Joey's current projects include the films STRESS TEST, directed by first-time filmmaker J.J. Woronoff, LOS VAMPIRES, directed by Craig Mitchell and the US Casting for ENTROPY, directed by Lola Atkins.

He just completed casting of THE DUTCHMAN, directed by Andre Gaines, as well as THE BIRD AND THE BEE, directed by Justin Kelly and starring Alicia Silverstone.

Recent credits include casting the films Parachute (SXSW 2023), Malum, Daughter of the Bride, Holly Jolly, All You Need Is Blood, The Snare, They/Them/Us, and Death Saved My Life.  

Prior to his time spent at Stewart/Whitley, Joey spent six years as Associate Casting Director at Barden/Schnee Casting, where he cast numerous projects including: FILM: Spotlight, Leave No Trace, Still Alice, Clemency, Timmy Failure, Pitch Perfect 2 & 3, The Girl on the Train, Sisters, Ma, The Upside, Galveston, The Boy Downstairs, Get on Up, Prisoners; TELEVISION/NEW MEDIA: 13 Reasons Why (Pilot - Netflix), Jessica Jones (Season 1 - Netflix), The Last OG (Season 1 - TBS), Girlboss (Netflix), Good Girls Revolt (Amazon), Queen America (Facebook Watch), Bonding (Netflix). 

Joey is also an eight time Artios Award Nominee, having most recently been nominated in the Micro Budget category for his work on the film They/Them/Us.

Joey began his career as an intern at Telsey + Co, before becoming a Casting Assistant on the Television shows Smash and A Gifted Man. Joey also freelanced as an Assistant to Jen Rudin on the casting of various TV pilots, feature films and commercials.

Angela Mickey

Angela Mickey is the most long-term member of the LLCP family. As Managing Director of Casting, Angela works across the board on commercial, voice over, film, TV and theater projects, supporting and guiding our staff to dig deeper and find fresh talent.

She enjoys working with veteran and up-and-coming creatives, helping to provide an individual plan to each casting process, as well as assistance with union regulations and talent payment guidelines. Angela has worked on hundreds of on camera commercial and voice over projects, as well as helped form the real people division.   

Her recent theatrical projects include the Filipino movie musical The Girl Who Left HomeA Year and Change, ReRUN, AppleTV+ Get Rolling With Otis, Hallmark’s One Royal Holiday, Lifetime's The Holiday Fix Up, and Stalker’s Prey III: A Predator Returns.

Always looking for the new, undiscovered talent, Angela can be found conducting audition classes with actors nationwide. Winner of the 2019 Heller Award for Best Northeast Commercial and VO Casting.

Jeffrey Dreisbach

Jeffrey Dreisbach, a seasoned Casting Director and esteemed partner at McCorkle Casting, Ltd., possesses a keen eye for identifying talent in emerging actors.

His remarkable abilities have played a pivotal role in the success of the casting company, responsible for over 100 Broadway and Off-Broadway productions, 65 feature films, and numerous television shows.

Prior to transitioning to casting, Jeff enjoyed a prolific two-decade-long career as an actor, showcasing his versatility in theatre, film, television, commercials, and voiceovers. Notably, he made his mark on Broadway with an impressive 500 performances as Lt. Kendrick in Aaron Sorkin's production of "A Few Good Men." His film credits include roles in "Splash," "Die Hard 3," and "The Thomas Crowne Affair," and he also portrayed Norman Van Buren in the NBC soap opera "Another World."

Drawing from his extensive experience on both sides of the audition process, Jeff now dedicates his expertise to helping actors navigate and advance their careers. His passion lies in assisting actors finding their confidence with auditions. He addresses technical challenges, acting choices, and reshapes the actors' perspectives on the audition process. Current offerings at Actors Connection include "Self-tape Workshops" and "Stage to Screen" classes.

Jeffrey Dreisbach extends his influence beyond workshops by hosting the popular podcast "Casting Actors Cast," boasting over 100,000 downloads. Additionally, his workbook/manual, "Conversation Pieces Out of the Studio," designed to guide actors to success in voiceovers, is a required reading in Acting BFA and MFA programs nationwide.
