ONLINE FILM/TV INTENSIVE with Derek Hersey, Associate CD, Kromer Casting

Monday, October 5, 2020, 6:30pm ET / 3:30pm PT

This office previously cast Netflix's Russian Doll, Cinemax's Banshee, Marvel's Cloak & Dagger, Treme, HBO's True Detective (Emmy award 2014) and HBO's High Maintenance.

The event will start off with an informative virtual Q&A, followed by your presentation of the scene with a reader in a group. Be prepared to take feedback and adjustments.

What to Prepare:

For this intensive, please prepare a scene of choice that you feel best showcases your strengths as an actor. You can select a scene from the General Sides database (link located in your Actors Connection account upon registration), OR bring in your own 2-3 page scene. 

Please email jess@actorsconnection.com your scene choice AS AN ATTACHMENT (file should be labeled YourName_CHARACTER) by 5pm (EST) the DAY BEFORE the event.

Please follow the procedures listed below:

• Please update your headshot and fill out the MY INFO section of your AC account upon registration.

• Arrive at least 10 MINUTES before your event is slated to start. Your host will give important information about the event at this time.

• Instructions and the ZOOM link for access to this online event will be emailed to you in advance. If you have not received the link by 12pm (EST) the day-of the event, please reach out to registration@actorsconnection.com at least one hour PRIOR to the start of class.

Derek Hersey

Derek Hersey is an associate casting director at Kromer Casting. Derek’s previous television credits include season 1 of GOSSIP GIRL (HBO Max), season 1 of RAISING DION (Netflix), season 6 of POWER (Starz), the limited series THE I-LAND (Netflix), seasons 2 and 3 of SHADES OF BLUE (NBC) with Jennifer Lopez and Ray Liotta, season 1 of INSATIABLE (Netflix), and many pilots including CHARMED, DYNASTY, IN THE DARK, VALOR, SKINNY DIP, and PLAYING DEAD. Feature film credits include GREYHOUND with Tom Hanks, THE COMEDIAN with Robert DeNiro and Leslie Mann, and indie FIRST ONE IN with Kat Foster and Georgia King.
