Showcase to THREE legit agencies that represent for film, TV and theater in NYC and get immediate feedback on your performance so you can continue to make smarter and more powerful choices in this ever-changing career.

You'll also receive written feedback that will be given to you after the event to provide even more clarity on your work.

Please note that this in person showcase will be at:

Pearl Studios NYC

You will be emailed your assigned studio the morning of your event.

Pearl Studios has two addresses:

500 8th Avenue, 3rd and 4th floors

and across the street
519 8th Avenue, 12th floor
(between 35th and 36th)

EVENT OVERVIEW:

This in-person event will start with a 20-30 minute Q&A with everyone in the studio.

Afterwards, you will be showcasing to the panel by appointment. Q&A is optional to attend but we recommend.

You’ll be given your appointment times in advance in EST.

Please show up at least 10-15 minutes before your scheduled time, and please be aware that timing issues can occur but your host will keep you updated while you are waiting.

We kindly ask that you do not request to alter your appointment time.

WHAT TO PREPARE:

For this event, please bring in your own scene of choice (no more than 2 minutes in length) that you feel best showcases your strengths as an actor. If you do not have your own scene, you can select a scene from the General Sides database (link located in your Actors Connection account upon registration). IN ADDITION: Please bring TWO HARD COPIES of your scene - one highlighted FOR THE READER
Please email jess@actorsconnection.com your scene choice AS AN ATTACHMENT (file should be labeled YourName_CHARACTER) by 5pm (EST) the day before the event.

Please follow the procedures listed below:

  • Please update your headshot and fill out the MY INFO section of your AC account upon registration.

  • The room will be open 30 minutes before the event is scheduled to start. Please arrive at least 10 MINUTES before your event begins as your host will give important information about the event at this time.

Kya McCullum

Kya McCullum is the head of the East Coast division of Universal Attractions Agency, a talent/booking agency.

Universal Attractions represents a select group of actors and musicians who have appeared on stage, film and television programs.  She has an extensive background in the entertainment industry, including years working at record companies and talent agencies, where she worked with major talent as well as helped build the careers of up-and-coming artists.  As a talent agent with UAA, Kya has booked actors for television series, feature films and commercials. She started her career in entertainment at talent agency Bauman, Redanty and Shaul, and records companies Roc-A-Fella, Def Jam, and Sony Music Entertainment.

In addition to being an agent, Kya also helps with the internship programs at UAA to help encourage young women on the importance of diversity behind the scenes. Kya is a member of NAMIC as well as Woman In Music. 

Marilynn Scott Murphy

Marilynn Scott Murphy is the Owner and Head Legit Agent at Professional Artists. She represents clients for Theater, TV, and Film.

Jenna Winnett

Jenna Winnett grew up in the small upstate town of Bath, NY. As a graduate of the University at Buffalo with a BA in Theater Performance and Arts Administration she had the great fortune to study Meisner under Tony nominated actor Stephen McKinley Henderson. A comedy aficionado, Jenna studied stand up and improv under Oliver Double at Kent University in Canterbury, England. She then completed all levels of improv training at Second City in Toronto and worked as a stand-up comedian in Toronto and Buffalo before making the move to NYC in 2009. She has performed at Gotham, Comix, Carolines, Yuk Yuks and Eastville Comedy.

Jenna started at Judy Boals, Inc. as an intern in January of 2010 and worked her way up from part-time assistant to a fully franchised agent in a year. She then worked as a franchised agent running the TV/Film Dept. Jenna is now proud to be a partner in the expanded Boals, Winnett & Associates.

Currently, Jenna has clients as series regulars or recurring guest stars on Legacies (CW), The Deuce (HBO), Leviathan (Amazon), Godfather of Harlem (Epix), New Amsterdam (NBC) and Marvelous Mrs. Maisel (Amazon). Additionally BWA has clients on Broadway and touring productions of The Prom, Aladdin, The Network, Hamilton, Mean Girls and Waitress.
