ALL DAY On-Camera Television Audition Technique with Maria Hubbard, Casting / Career Coach

Sunday, November 6, 2016, 10am ET / 7am PT

This event is in the past.

-4pm. This ALL DAY On Camera intensive is a MUST if you are looking for an "intro" into the world of working on camera.

After nearly 12 years of auditions in all aspects of Television casting - from independent, to episodic, to network casting, as well as experience at a top-tier talent agency - Maria now brings her unique point of view to this all-day class.

The morning session will commence with an in-depth Q&A and cover the fundamentals of auditioning for TV: where to find auditions and how to best present yourself in the audition room, on-camera technique (including eye lines, props, how to connect with your reader, wardrobe, and memorization). After Q&A Maria will review each student's headshots and resumes and discuss types, and how to know what roles to be targeting for yourself. We'll finish the morning working as a group on material for Under 5, Co-Star, and Guest Star auditions.

After lunch, Maria will work with each student individually on Series Regular sides (assigned in advance). You'll again work ON-CAMERA as she gives honest adjustments and feedback that directly emulate the audition experience. Throughout the day, Maria will address ALL of your business related questions about the casting process, pet-peeves, how to be your own advocate, and more!

While at FOX, Maria has also worked on hit series Empire, The Last Man on Earth, Wayward Pines, 24: Live Another Day, and Brooklyn 99, among others. Prior to joining the FOX network Maria was an independent casting director on numerous projects with the Columbia University MFA program, and was Casting Associate at Tucker/Meyerson casting where she worked on such projects as Rescue Me, Damages, Fringe, and Nurse Jackie. Before her work in casting Maria started as an agent's assistant at The Gersh Agency.
