A former agent with A+ Agency, Rita has been in casting since 2003. In the past 8 years, Rita has cast for television shows, commercials, feature and independent films, including the critically acclaimed HALF NELSON and 2011 MUSICAL CHAIRS with Academy Award winning director Susan Seidelman. Rita also casts internationally as well working with prominent Bollywood producers Karan Johar and Adiyta Chopra. Two of her films that she recently cast - the indie feature THE PLACE BEYOND THE PINES (background) and the Bollywood film ENGLISH VINGLISH (dayplayers and background) received critical acclaim at the Toronto Film Festival.
Currently, she is casting principals for TWO indie feature films, background and featured roles for the features THE PASTOR and THE EROTIC FIRE OF THE UNOBTAINABLE, principals for an industrial for CAMBRIDGE, several commercials and voice-overs.
Recent projects include: the feature film SEVEN INDIANS, all roles for the international indie film SCANDALOUS, dayplayers and background for the Bollywood film FATEH SINGH as well as various SAG medical industrials. She just finished casting dayplayers and background for a HUGE feature film DHOOM3, a Jamie Fox feature and commercials for E*TRADE, LIQUID PLUMBER, and MEDIASET.
Rita just cast one of our AC actors in a SAG spot that paid over $50k so far! She's interested in meeting actors of ALL TYPES-ALL AGES (18+).

Rita Powers
Rita Powers began her career in entertainment in 1987 at Little Stars, a boutique children’s talent management firm in New York City.
Ms. Powers started as an interviewer but was quickly promoted to office manager. After several years with Little Stars, Ms. Powers left to become a SAG agent with the A+ Agency.
4 years of experience with A+ gave Ms. Powers the opportunity to develop strong business contacts and build exciting relationships, providing her with the resources and confidence needed to open her own business. Rita Powers Management was an immediate success.
Having worked in the industry for many years, Ms. Powers has placed talent in everything from Broadway to national commercials, films, television shows, voice-overs and print advertisements.
Based in Tribeca, Ms. Powers has been surrounded by influential producers and casting directors. Years of experience and determination has led Ms. Powers in a new direction. Since 2003, Rita Powers Management has been working on casting projects for principle, featured and background talent. Working with prominent Bollywood producers Karan Johar and Adiyta Chopra, Ms. Powers continues to develop international expertise as well as additional casting experience.
Rita has worked on casting for television shows, commercials, feature and independent films, including critically acclaimed Half Nelson and 2011 Musical Chairs with Academy Award winning Director, Susan Seidelman.
Most recently, Rita was thrilled to have the opportunity to work with renowned Director Derek Cianfrance on the HBO series, I Know This Much Is True, with an Emmy award winning performance from Mark Ruffalo. She also cast for the feature Sing Sing.
She just finished casting principals for the feature film Wish You Were Here directed by Julia Stiles. Other projects include casting principals for the new late night Comedy Central NY TV series Tha God's Honest Truth (just renewed for season 2), the feature film My Last Best Friend starring Eric Roberts and Carol Alt and the TV series Gravesend.
