Zoom: FREE Online SEMINAR - Headshot Guidance for Gender-Nonconforming and Queer Artists led by Mia Isabella Aguirre
Wednesday, January 7, 2026, 2pm ET / 11am PT

Headshot Guidance for Gender-Nonconforming and Queer Artists looking for Headshots that capture their most authentic selves!
Mia Isabella Aguirre, principal photographer of Mia Isabella Photography, is a queer, gender non-conforming photographer, specializing in creating safe spaces for queer/enby/trans folks in NYC looking for authentic headshots that capture their true selves in a world driven by "type," "look," and gender conforming that can feel isolating and confusing.
In this virtual seminar, we will do a preparation exploration for headshots, whether or not you work with Mia in the future or not.
We will explore the word "energies" vs. type, and find range, variety, and uniqueness in your headshots, so when your photographer asks "What kinds of roles do you go out for?" or "What's your type?" you are prepped with answers that feel true to your self expression and gender identity.
We will touch on styling, hair and make up, and how to navigate discussions with your photographer and make up artist about all elements of the shoot, so you can feel prepared and embraced and advocated for.
Everyone who attends the session will receive a 30% discount across all our packages.
Come with a couple blank sheets of paper and some colored pens or markers and be ready to play and explore yourself and all the qualities that make you special.
Can't wait to meet you!

Mia Isabella Aguirre
It started when my dad, a photographer of 20 years, put a camera in my hand and said “My hands shake too much; I can’t use this anymore. It’s yours. Have fun, mama.”
One thing led to another and ten years later, with an amazing team by my side, this business has grown into something so precious to me. I am a photographer, but I am also an actor, director, movement maker, singer, and an artist in many mediums, all of which share a common language of human emotion and storytelling.
