Zoom: FREE SEMINAR: Self Tape 101 with Rex & Shawn from Rex Lott Photography

All attendees are invited to submit their full body slate videos, which are then reviewed by Rex and Shawn. Each participant receives individualized feedback focused on improving the technical components of their audition tapes.
The interactive format encourages attendees to join the seminar from their own audition setups, enabling Rex and Shawn to provide real-time adjustments that benefit all participants.
As part of this free seminar, Rex and Shawn share a curated list of affordable equipment—such as lighting and microphones—that they have personally tested and recommend to actors.
Additionally, attendees receive access to video tutorials that demonstrate essential post-production techniques, including trimming footage, performing color correction, and seamlessly incorporating full body shots into self-tape submissions.

Rex Lott
Rex Lott is an agency-referred headshot photographer in NYC with more than 25 years of professional experience. Throughout his career, Rex has worked with leading talent agencies and has been involved in shooting catalogs, advertising campaigns, and countless actors' headshots.
Shawn Allen McLaughlin manages Rex Lott Photography and assists Rex during headshot sessions. In addition to his managerial role, Shawn is an accomplished actor with experience spanning theater, commercials, television, and film.
Over the past five years, Rex and Shawn have dedicated themselves to helping actors enhance the technical quality of their self-tape auditions. They have facilitated this workshop at a variety of institutions, including colleges, acting studios, and for SAG-AFTRA New York.
