Zoom: FREE Online SEMINAR - Your Headshot Is a Problem… and It's Not What You Think: Discover how knowing your brand changes everything — in your photos and your career with Jon Vane from SoVane Photography
Thursday, November 6, 2025, 4pm ET / 1pm PT

You spend hours submitting self-tapes, checking your email for auditions that never come, or scrolling through breakdowns wondering why you’re not getting called in.
Or maybe you’re new to the industry and still trying to figure out where you fit in — what makes you stand out. You’ve changed your hair, updated your wardrobe, paid for new headshots, and still… nothing clicks.
The truth? It’s not your lighting, your angles, or even your photographer. It’s that you haven’t yet figured out your brand — who you truly are at your core — so your headshot can’t possibly reflect it. And if you don’t know who you are, how can the industry?
As both an accomplished New York City headshot photographer and a working actor, I’ve seen it all — talented performers walking into sessions with no clear sense of who they are or what they bring to the table. The result? Headshots that look great but don’t speak.
In this free seminar, I’ll help you uncover your unique brand — not the roles you want to play, but the truth of who you are when the camera stops you in your tracks. Because when you know that, every photo, audition, and meeting becomes more powerful and more aligned with the artist you truly are.
We’ll talk about how your brand shapes everything — from what you wear to how you’re framed to the energy you project in front of the lens. Most actors skip this work, but it’s the difference between a forgettable photo and one that opens doors. My goal is to guide you toward clarity: to help you identify what makes you you so that your headshots — and your career — finally start working for you instead of against you.
To make it even more exciting, I’ll be raffling off one free headshot session during the seminar. To qualify, you must be a NYC-based local and present for the entire session. Come ready to learn, reflect, and maybe walk away with new headshots that finally feel like you.

Jonathan Diaz Vane
Hi! I’m Jonathan Vane.
I’ve been a photographer for around 5 years. I started working with the camera when I worked for a Demo Reel company shooting reels for actors.
Oh and by the way - I'm an actor just like you! I went to the New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts and have been in several (hundreds? thousands?) of audition rooms.
Talk actor lingo to me. I understand your frustrations, your sacrifices, and everything in between.
I’m also a reader at Actors Connection. So, I'm always in front of casting directors and agents hearing what they are looking for. This gives me a huge advantage when it comes to headshots.
But I know what it's like to get photos for the first time, or to be in front of a stranger taking your shots, or to be nervous looking down the barrel of a camera. I’ll bring all my knowledge and experience to our shoot.
I just like to create! I like to help other actors fulfill their dreams! I hope one day, both of us are on set together! I have a creative and positive atmosphere while shooting. I listen to you and I simply just click a button when your unique self truly shows. We’ll capture gripping and natural shots…while having fun. 🙂
