Your headshot isn’t a passive experience, it’s a performance.
In today's online seminar, Mark will share with you his tips on getting your best looks and the importance of:
- wardrobe, wardrobe, wardrobe
- knowing your type
He'll also share how important it is that the photographer and client collaborate together like a director and actor or scene partners. How he uses Meisner repetition exercises, or repeat famous lines from movies (“you talkin’ to me?”). It’s all to get loose, generate real emotions and behavior, and get that twinkle in your eye.
Another approach he uses is having clients perform a monologue or singing a tune. While you are deep into the performance and he see's a good moment he will stop you, make any adjustments (eyes here, stop talking, smile, etc.), and snap a photo. This way you aren’t posing stiffly for a picture… but an actor, alive in the moment.
Think of the photo session as if you have been cast in a big-budget film, and together you're just exploring various approaches to your character.
So go ahead take chances, lose your inhibitions, discover, and enjoy. And know all along that nothing you do in front of my camera can get you fired from this film. Why? Because the posters have already been printed with your face on them!

The room will be open 30 minutes before the event is scheduled to start. Please arrive at least 10 MINUTES before your event begins as your host will give important information about the event at this time.

I know what it’s like to invest hard earned money and passion in a headshot, hoping that it will advance a career as an actor. I’ve been a SAG member ever since I was cast in the first season of “Sex And The City”. I also spent 8 years as a fashion model in Europe and more than a decade here inNYC as a commercial print model. Today my goal is to give you the quality shots that I expected when I was like you, the client.
P.S. In addition to shooting headshots, I spent 6 years shooting for one of the world’s top fashion publications, the London based “Dazed” magazine. My portraits range from supermodels Karlie Kloss, Gigi Hadid and Cara Delevingne to top designers Ralph Lauren, Marc Jacobs and Tommy Hilfiger.
