COVER LETTERS! The Power in Your Words! with Annie Chadwick, Up-To-Date Theatricals

Wednesday, March 13, 2019, 6:30pm ET / 3:30pm PT

This event is in the past.

The words that we use to talk about our talent are just as important as the expensive headshot. They are a reflection of our creative talent. This is so important to understand when writing a cover letter or note to the industry.  Think of the cover letter as the third snapshot of you that builds upon the first two most important marketing tools – the picture and resume.  A good cover letter includes the following pieces of information:

  1. Who recommended you (if you have a referral).
  2. What you want - an interview to discuss representation or an audition.
  3. Why you are ready to book work - recent work, links to reels, training, who you are currently studying with or have worked with, reviews, etc.
  4. Closing, that you expect to be successful.

The goal of a good cover letter is to introduce your talent through the credits, referrals, and training that you reference. This reassures the agent/manager/casting director that you are at a professional bookable level and committed to building a successful performance career.

At this seminar you will learn how to write a specific, targeted cover letter that will up your chances of getting in the room.
