Business + Art: A Workshop for Working Atlanta Actors

Wednesday, June 26, 2019, 5pm ET / 2pm PT

This event is in the past.

This is Part One of A Series of Workshops for THE WORKING ACTOR

This series of stand alone workshops will follow the precepts as described in the book “How To Book Acting Jobs 3.0” - Through the Eyes of a Casting Director - Across All Platforms

Casting directors and actors have a special relationship. CDs are the ones who say “Yes, we want to give you an opportunity because we think you have something special in you, to share with the world.” We say “no” much more than we say “yes.”  This book and these workshops are designed to get you to “yes!”

WHAT TO EXPECT:

DEFINING AND REFINING YOUR BRANDING

Who are you and are all your materials reflecting your authentic self?  Through a very unique on-camera experience called “Charisma Coaching,” Cathy will help you clarify who you are in the context of being an actor/artist.  The next step is then to go over your current materials (Actors Access, IMDB page, Casting Networks, demo reels, websites) with a fine tooth comb, from the perspective of a casting director.  Is your demo strong? Do your headshots reveal you as you are now? Do you list your credits correctly? and so on. Cathy will also analyze your online media presence (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter). She will share current trends for an actors online presence and give practical advice on how to make it better.  By the end of the workshop, you will not only know better who you are, but you will be excited about sharing your materials  and using social media.  (What a concept?)
