Auditioning for Horror Films, Thrillers & Chillers-4 Week On-Camera Class with Pamela Kramer, Casting Director Plus Final Showcase

Did you know that Horror films are one of the most popular film genres being shot and produced today? Audiences flock to see them whether low budget or full Hollywood productions. Many of today's stars like Johnny Depp(A Nightmare on Elm Street) and Jamie Lee Curtis(Halloween) got their start in films that have led to HUGE Hollywood careers. Now, here's your chance to explore working in this thrilling industry with one of NY's top casting directors, teaching YOU the skills necessary to break into this very exciting area of the business! In your first class, you'll be cast into a cold B movie horror scene with another actor and working with Pamela on-camera. She'll work with each couple in a audition scenario, giving adjustments, feedback, suggestions and constructive criticism which will impact your approach toward audition material immediately. For your following classes, you'll be emailed scenes to prepare in advance for each class. Each week you'll explore on-camera the various areas of horror, thrillers and chillers including low budget horror films (Paranormal Activity, Torture Chamber, The Blair Witch Project), Monster movies (Dracula, Hellraiser, The Evil Dead, The Mist, Tremors), Chillers (The Exorcist, Amityville Horror), Psychological Thrillers (Silence of the Lambs, Dressed to Kill, Christine), modern day Horror films (The Ruins, The Skeleton Key, Paranormal Activity, The Descent, Saw, Hostel) and Sci-Fi Horror (I am Legend, Aliens, Signs, The Thing, Resident Evil, Event Horizon, War of the Worlds). For your last class, you'll SHOWCASE your best scene and get feedback on your work from a panel of TOP INDUSTRY GUESTS! Scheduled guests include: Jenevieve Brewer, Agent, About Face Dante Tomaselli, Horror Film Director (Torture Chamber-soon to be released, Desecration, Satan's Playground, Horror) and Karl Petry, Horror Film Director/Producer(The Ironbound Vampire, The Ghosts of Angela Webb, The Larksville Ghost, Requiem for a Vampire and The Haunting of Danbury House.) Pamela will also cover ways to get started without an agent and how to make connections from trade shows to producers to writers. In the business for over twenty years, Pamela Kramer, (Casting Director and owner of Bradley Baron) casts for film and TV as well as hundreds of commercials, industrials, and voice-overs. Recent film casting includes the independent film, "Torture Chamber", scheduled for release in late 2011. Currently, she's in pre-production for TWO Horror films, a sci-fi/fantasy film called "Out of the Lantern" with award winning Director Peter Vinal and just finished casting for a new TV series called TAILGATE 48 on the Big 10 Network. Pamela Kramer

Pamela S. Kramer, Casting Director & Producer, has been in the Entertainment Industry for over 30 years. Pamela casts for film and television as well as hundreds of commercials, industrials, and voice-overs. 

Known for casting Comedy Central’s hit TV series Strangers with Candy, Pamela's recent credits include the features Torture Chamber (Horror)(directed by Dante Tomaselli), The Unborn (Horror), Tomato Limbo (Romantic Comedy) as well as several award-winning shorts Charred (Thriller), The Orchard (Coming of Age), Always Have Paris (Thriller), and Alien Contact (Sci-fi).

Other credits include the TV pilot Click Next to Continue (Sci-Fi) which has won over 22 awards, My Roommates a Goddess (Sci-Fi), the pilot IM4Kids (animated reality show), and Nice AXE (Horror) which has garnered numerous accolades.

She's currently in preproduction for the feature “CHOMP” (Horror).

She's cast several television pilots for Hallmark, VH1, MTV, History Channel and numerous national and regional commercials.

Entering into the 16th year, Pamela teaches a Horror film class, “Dying for the Camera” & in the 5th year of the Sci-fi/Fantasy Intensive. The only classes of it's kind in the country.
