AC is thrilled to welcome back Gary John who will be teaching our newest ONE NIGHT ONLY Musical Theater Audition Master Class. For this Master Class, please prepare 2 contrasting songs and bring your book as Gary John may want to hear something additional. The afternoon will start off with a Q & A, and then each actor will perform for Gary John using your prepared material in a group format. He will coach, give direction and offer possible recommendations of material to "check out" if what you are currently using doesn't "work". Gary John is an in-demand SDC director-choreographer and musical theatre coach. He has worked in the theatre professionally for over twenty-five years directing well over 200 productions nationally. Some recent credits include: the 10th Anniversary National Tour of Footloose; the world premiere of Michael Ching's a cappella opera A Midsummer Night's Dream; The Sound of Music (starring Rex Smith); Always…Patsy Cline (starring Sally Struthers); Annie (starring Beth Leavel); Peter Pan and Fiddler on the Roof at the MUNY in St. Louis (Judy Award/Kevin Kline Award nomination) and Starlight Theatre in Kansas City; The Full Monty - Phoenix Theatre; Aida, Hairspray and West Side Story - Sacramento Music Circus; Grease and Romance/Romance - Fulton Theatre; La Cage aux Folles - Downtown Cabaret (Outstanding Director – CT Critic's Circle Award) and The Light in the Piazza and Seussical - Playhouse on the Square (multiple Ostrander Award nominations). NYC credits include: Pins and Needles (starring Karen Mason); Marry Me a Little (starring Brent Barrett & Sally Mayes); In My Dream - Vortex Theatre and workshops of the new musicals lift and Another Day in Paradise.
