Train with a Network TV Casting Director and Showcase for TWO NYC Talent Agents!
Actors Connection is excited to introduce this NEW three-week hybrid Film/TV Scene Study & Agent Showcase Class with network television casting director and on-camera coach Blaine Johnston!
Designed for experienced actors ready to take their Film/TV work to the next level, this unique class combines professional scene study, personalized one-on-one coaching, and an exclusive in-person showcase for TWO NYC talent agents with whom Blaine has established professional relationships.
Over three weeks, you'll develop, rehearse, and fine-tune a Film/TV scene specifically selected for you based on your casting type, strengths, and preference for comedy or drama.
The class culminates in a live agent showcase where you'll perform your polished scene with a professional reader and receive direct feedback from both agents.
WEEK 1: ONLINE – SCENE STUDY & CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT
Group Zoom Class
Before the class begins, you'll let us know whether you prefer to work on a comedic or dramatic scene.
Using that information, along with your uploaded headshot and resume, Blaine will select an appropriate Film/TV scene tailored to the types of roles you could realistically be auditioning for.
Scenes will be assigned in advance so you can familiarize themselves with the material before the first class.
During Week 1, Blaine will work with you on:
-
Breaking down the scene and understanding the character
-
Identifying objectives, relationships, and emotional stakes
-
Making strong, specific acting choices
-
Finding authenticity and spontaneity in your performance
-
Understanding what casting directors look for in Film/TV auditions
-
Incorporating adjustments and direction into your work
You'll leave the first class with clear notes and direction to continue developing your scene.
Your goal for Week 2: Have your scene fully memorized and ready for individual coaching.
WEEK 2: ONLINE – PRIVATE ONE-ON-ONE SCENE COACHING
Individual Zoom Appointment with Blaine
This week is all about YOU!
You'll receive a private coaching session with Blaine to fine-tune your memorized scene and prepare for the upcoming agent showcase.
Blaine will work with you on strengthening your acting choices, making adjustments, and bringing greater authenticity and specificity to your performance.
The goal is to have you feeling confident, prepared, and ready to deliver your strongest work for the agents!
Week 2 appointments will be scheduled in advance. You'll only attend your assigned online session.
WEEK 3: IN PERSON – LIVE FILM/TV AGENT SHOWCASE
Pearl Studios, New York City
It's showtime!
For your final class, you'll perform your professionally coached Film/TV scene for TWO New York talent agents.
The evening begins with an exclusive industry Q&A moderated by Blaine.
You'll have the opportunity to learn about the agents, their offices, what they're currently looking for, and what makes an actor stand out when being considered for representation.
Following the Q&A, you will perform your prepared Film/TV scene with a live reader.
You'll receive direct feedback from the agents, offering valuable insight into their work from a professional representation perspective.
Blaine will conclude the evening with final observations and takeaways to help you continue growing beyond the class.
Three weeks of professional training, personalized coaching, and preparation lead to one exciting opportunity to showcase your work for TWO NYC talent agents!
