New! In Person: Theater Intensive with Claire Yenson, Casting Director

Claire is a NY casting director who works in film, TV, and theatre.

She casts for a wide variety of theaters and is the casting director in residence for the New York Theater Workshop.

Recent theatre credits include MEXODUS (Audible Theater and current national tour), DEGENERATES, THE ANNUNCIATION (Playwrights Horizons), LIGHTS OUT, BECOMING EVE, WE LIVE IN CAIRO (NYTW), HAMLET, GREAT EXPECTATIONS/A MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM (The Acting Company), plus work for Playwrights Realm, Ars Nova, Edinburgh Fringe, Spoleto Festival, 59E59, The Public Theater, Studio Theatre, Shakespeare Theatre, Indiana Repertory Theatre, and Shakespeare Center of LA.

Her Film/TV credits includes XO, KITTY (Netflix), PACHINKO (Apple TV+), FLEISHMAN IS IN TROUBLE (FX), SHARPER(A24), and MODERN LOVE (Amazon).

Intensive Overview:

For this intensive, Claire will select theater sides based on your HS/resume submission which you will receive and prepare 24-48 hours in advance.

You'll work with her and a reader in a group as she coaches you through your scene in a format that replicates her casting process. Claire will be giving you detailed feedback and adjustments and will also share her insight into auditioning for theater in New York.

She's interested in seeing committed actors looking for honest and constructive feedback.

Please note that this in person intensive will be held at:

Pearl Studios NYC
500 8th Avenue, 3rd, 4th and 12th floors
(between 35th and 36th)

You will be emailed your assigned studio the morning of your event.

WHAT TO PREPARE:

For this intensive, Claire will select sides for you to prepare based on your headshot and fully completed MY INFO section in your AC account. IN ADDITION: Please bring TWO HARD COPIES of your scene - one highlighted FOR THE READER.

Assignments will be emailed at least 24 hours in advance. 

Please follow the procedures listed below:

• Please update your headshot and fill out the MY INFO section of your AC account upon registration.

• The room will be open 30 minutes before the event is scheduled to start. Please arrive at least 10 MINUTES before your event begins as your host will give important information about the event at this time.

• Instructions will be emailed to you in advance. If you have not received the location by one hour before the event, please reach out to registration@actorsconnection.com.
