Dawn Hershey-Lopes

After attending 3 different universities (San Diego State, La Universidad Catolica in Santiago Chile and California State University Chico). Dawn graduated with a Spanish major and a Theatre Arts minor from CSUC. 

She moved to Los Angeles in 1995 and started working at Nickelodeon Animation Studios. There, she worked her way up through the ranks from Receptionist to Casting Assistant, Casting Coordinator, Casting Supervisor, and finally Casting Director. She joined the Casting Society of America (CSA) in 1999 and has been a full time Casting Director ever since.

From Nickelodeon she moved on to Icebox.com in 2000 where she was hired as the Executive Director of Casting, to cast and record over 50 animated shorts for the internet. Then the dot com bubble burst and she and her tech-geek pals all wheeled their Aeron chairs out to our cars, loaded 'em up, and started looking for the next thing.

From Icebox she went on to co-found Blindlight in 2001 (A production services company for the videogame industry) and for 7 years oversaw all of the voice-over production. Casting voices for videogames allowed her to create, develop and hone her amazing organizational systems for casting large quantities of characters in short amounts of time. 

While holding down full time jobs at each of these companies, she continued to build her freelance career in Television and Feature film animation. Her current clients include Warner Bros., Renegade Animation, Amazon Studios, Unicorn Studios, MARZA Animation, and SGH Productions. Fun credits include “The New Looney Tunes Show” , “The New Tom and Jerry Show” and “Scooby-Doo and Guess Who”. 

She is keeping very busy with an independent animated feature due out in 2025, as well as doing private coaching through SkillsHub.
