In Person: MUSICAL THEATER Masterclass with CHAD ERIC MURNANE CSA, Casting Director, Murnane Casting
Thursday, April 9, 2026, 6:30pm ET / 3:30pm PT

Murnane Casting is a New York-based casting office specializing in Broadway, Off-Broadway, Tours, and Regional Theatre.
Before launching Murnane Casting, Chad spent six years at Binder Casting and three years at Lisa Fields Casting.
His casting process centers on collaboration and discovery, fostering a kind, relaxed audition room. He approaches casting as an artist with a producer’s mind. He cares deeply about the art form and its artists, and his casting reflects curiosity, range, and a commitment to looking beyond the obvious.
Selected credits include the national and international tours of Mrs. Doubtfire, Dear Evan Hansen, Tina, Kinky Boots, The Sound of Music, Lincoln Center Theater’s My Fair Lady, the Tony Award-winning revival of The Color Purple, Anne of Green Gables (Goodspeed), Into the Woods(Hollywood Bowl), and Emojiland (off-Broadway).
On film, Chad worked on Paramount Pictures’ Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows and the reboot of Friday the 13th.
EVENT OVERVIEW:
The evening will start off with a Q & A, and then each actor will perform for him using your prepared material in a group format.
For this Master Class, please prepare two 32 bar cuts. Please note that you may only work with him on one piece so do your best song first.
He will coach, give direction and offer possible recommendations of material to "check out" if what you are currently using doesn't "work".
Chad is committed to diverse, inclusive and intelligent casting and has a passion for discovering new talent. His process eliminates artificial boundaries between theatre, television and film. He believes a great actor is a great actor. He understands how to connect the commercial with the artistic, seeking polished, provocative artists that have the education and skill to deliver.
Chad loves teaching as it gives him the opportunity to nurture actors and empowers them to succeed. Through teaching he helps them learn from the mistakes that he sees every day in the audition room. Additionally, he helps actors identify their individual strengths to ensure they understand how to make the most of an audition opportunity.
Chad is interested in working with actors of ALL TYPES - ALL AGES (13+).
An accompanist will be provided.
