When it comes to streaming media, Netflix is the indisputable king.
With more original content than Amazon Prime Video, Hulu, and Disney Plus, Netflix series provide talent with incredible opportunities to grow both as actors and to build their credits.
We're excited to have THREE top Casting pro's who have cast for a wide variety of NETFLIX TV series and features.
This event will start off with a Q&A. Then, you'll then be showcasing in a group format to our panel. You'll work with a reader and get immediate feedback on your performance so you can continue to make smarter and more powerful choices in this ever-changing career.

You will be emailed your assigned studio the morning of your event.
What to Prepare:
For this event, please bring in your own 2-3 page scene of choice that you feel best showcases your strengths as an actor. If you do not have your own scene, you can select a scene from the General Sides database (link located in your Actors Connection account upon registration).
Please email jess@actorsconnection.com your scene choice AS AN ATTACHMENT (file should be labeled YourName_CHARACTER) by 5pm (EST) the DAY BEFORE the event.

Liz Ortiz
Liz is a NYC based casting director and award winning indie film producer/director credited on projects which have screened at hundreds of film festivals such as Sundance, Tribeca, BAM Cinemafest, Toronto, IRIS Prize, GAZE, Brooklyn, Palm Springs, Austin, American Black, HBO Latino, NY Latino, Queen’s World, Reel Sisters, Harlem and Urban World among others. Projects have aired on CBS, HBO, Peacock, Apple TV, Amazon, Showtime, Netflix, and Lifetime Movies. Casting and producing highlights include: Advantageous (Sundance award winner, Independent Spirit nominee), Barrio Boy (Peacock,Amazon,AppleTV, streaming all over Europe ); And... Seen (writer/producer/director) a feature documentary commenting on misperceptions of disability in the entertainment industry. Current indie film projects(Casting and/or Producing) include Stateside by Dennis Shinners, an award winning short currently in the festival circuit, The Black Dog is Nipping at Your Heels, written/directed by Sundance Alumn Moon Molson, The Last Day of Byron Bray, by Michael Borrelli of West 52nd Street Films, produced by Peter McCann of the Publicis Group. She also casts special projects for various university film departments and festivals. Liz is an in house casting director and on the faculty of Stonestreet Studios/NYU, and enjoys giving live and virtual workshops for Princeton University, the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, SAG-AFTRA Foundation, Actors Connection other professional actor training programs.
Adrienne Stern
A seasoned Casting Director and ARTIOS winner whose films have premiered at Sundance, TIFF, Cannes, Tribeca, Berlin, SXSW, HIFF, Woodstock, Hamptons, Seattle, Venice and many other prominent film festivals, taking home first place prestigious awards that have led to distribution deals and launched actor’s careers…
Ms. Stern’s recent films include Julie Pacino’s debut I Live Here Now in theaters currently 2026; Jesus Land written and directed by Saila Kariat based on Julia Scheer’s memoir, starring Ella Anderson and Juliette Lewis; The Block starring Jack Falahee, Jackie Earle Haley, Chris Noth and Elias Koteas; Hazard starring Sosie Bacon, Steven Ogg and Alex Roe, which premiered at the 2024 Woodstock Film Festival; A Brooklyn Love Story with a cast of New York’s favorite Italian actors including Vincent Pastore; Andrew Troy’s Midnight in the Orange Grove; The Simunaut’s Tale starring Miku Martineau and Dylan Baker, Before Daylight starring Lilly Krug; An Enemy of the People, a Jay Craven Film starring Elizabeth (Bitsie) Tulloch and Molly Kunz.
Ms. Stern has a successful track record of attaching name talent to features that result in obtaining financing. This includes talent lists, offer letters, deal memo’s, LOI, escrow accounts. Extensive experience in negotiating and understanding budgets to attach the right talent.
Her films include The Believer starring Ryan Gosling; Thirteen Conversations About One Thing starring Matthew McConaughey; Broken English starring Parker Posey and Justin Theroux; Joseph Pulitzer starring Live Schreiber, Sebastian Stan, Billy Magnussen, Lauren Ambrose, Rachel Brosnahan and Adam Driver as the Narrator.
Well known in the Horror/Thriller genre films include: The Girl Who Got Away (Netflix) The Directors Cut (AMC), Dementia 13 (Universal) Satan’s Little Helper, Hellbenders, Mimic Sentinel, Malevolence Bereavement, Campfire Stories, Old 37, He Never Died, Hellraiser Deader and many more.
Ms. Stern was the Casting Director of The New York Sundance Writers Lab Reading Series from 1996-2005, and has been on both the selection committee and jury for the Gen Art Film Festival. She has been a judge for the Chelsea Film Festival. She is an Artio’s winner and member of BAFTA, CSA, Academy and Ensemble Studio Theatre. She was a previous Board member of The Greenwich International Film Festival and The First Time Fest.

Julia Catalano
Julia Catalano is a casting professional & theatre-maker based in Brooklyn, NY.
She graduated from Syracuse University's Department of Drama with a B.S. in Theatre Management where she trained under the CSA apprenticeship program.
Offices she worked with include Chrystie Street Casting (Not Okay, Rosaline, Janet Planet, Mo), McCarthy/Abellera (Awkwafina is Nora from Queens), and her home base: Gayle Keller Casting (Bros, The Big Door Prize, Life & Beth, English Teacher, Kinda Pregnant).
She most recently was the Casting Associate for The Mastermind, starring Josh O’Connor and Alana Haim, directed by Kelly Reichardt.
Additionally, she cast various community-based workshops and performances as a member of GrassRoots Art Collective.
