Vertical shorts have taken off in the entertainment industry and are now one of the most lucrative ways as an actor to get started in film and TV.

"Vertical shorts," also known as "micro dramas," are short-form video series with one-to-two-minute episodes shot in a vertical, 9:16 aspect ratio for optimal mobile phone viewing on platforms like ReelShort and ShortMax.

These addictive, melodramatic soap operas are designed for easy, digestible content consumption and often feature romantic or supernatural storylines with a specific "CW Network" look.

Dante Rusciolelli is the owner of Golden Artists Entertainment in Los Angeles working as both a talent manager and a casting director.

Currently, he's one of a handful of casting directors for the biggest vertical short feature film company in the world Reel Short.

His past credits include casting films and TV shows for MTV and The Learning Channel.

As the casting director for ReelShort, Dante will give you all the information you need for this area of the business and answer any questions you might have on how to get started.

Intensive Overview:

After a Q&A, you'll work with Dante online in a group as he coaches you through your scene in a format that replicates his office's casting process. He'll provide you with constructive feedback along with on-camera audition tips that he feels are imperative to booking roles on a professional level.

For this intensive, Dante will select sides for you to prepare based on your headshot and fully completed MY INFO section in your AC account. Be prepared to take feedback and adjustments.

What to Prepare:

Based on your HS/resume, Dante will select sides for you which will be emailed to you to prepare in 1-3 days in advance. PLEASE NOTE: Once scenes have been distributed, if you late cancel you will not be replaced!

Payment:

Please follow the procedures listed below:

• Please update your headshot and fill out the MY INFO section of your AC account upon registration.

• Arrive at least 10 MINUTES before your event is slated to start. Your host will give important information about the event at this time.

• Instructions and the ZOOM link for access to this online event will be emailed to you in advance. If you have not received the link by 12pm (EST) the day-of the event, please reach out to registration@actorsconnection.com at least one hour PRIOR to the start of class.
