Saturday, August 16, 2025, 10am ET / 7am PT

Don't miss this fast paced and fun day working on storytelling and character development with Alaine Alldaffer, who is the head of casting for Playwrights Horizons, one of the most highly respected Off-Broadway Theaters in New York City.
Her credits include: Stereophonic (Tony Award for Best Play / Drama Desk for Best Ensemble / Artios Award for Casting), A Strange Loop (Tony Award for Best Musical), Grey Gardens (also for Broadway), Clybourne Park (Tony Award for Best Play), Circle Mirror Transformation (Drama Desk and Obie Awards for Best Ensemble and an Artios Award for casting), and The Flick (Playwright Horizons and The Barrow Street Theater). Regional Theaters include Arena Stage, Williamstown Theatre Festival, Seattle Rep, ACT and Berkeley Rep among others.
Her focus for this all day intensive will be on strengthening your acting skills by using well written theater text.
In your morning session, the emphasis will be on process; Making choices that tells the best story for the character while simultaneously serving the story overall.
After a lunch break, you'll spend the afternoon working on new contrasting scenes. These scenes will be assigned prior to the lunch break. The goal is to take what you've learned from the morning session and bring your work to next level in the afternoon session.
This is a creative workout for your brain and spirit in a supportive and judgment free environment.
Alaine is always interested in meeting trained actors of all types-all ethnicities-all ages (18+) for their many projects.
