Zoom: WAY BEYOND TYPE - Online Intensive with Brette Goldstein, Casting Director/Producer, Brette Goldstein Casting

Monday, July 14, 2025, 6:30pm ET / 3:30pm PT

Price: $69.00

In this online event, you will explore your It Factor, your character strengths, star qualities and what makes you (in the words of Brette!) "a Mutha%*#&in Unicorn." Let’s cut though all the BS and discover how to let your authentic voice emerge. Let’s go way beyond type.

When it comes to auditions, actors tend to ask themselves what the people behind the table want. The truth is that we are not always so sure of what we are looking for. For the actor, it’s an often unwinnable and totally unnecessary head game.

We want to see you...the character through your eyes, not what you think we are looking for, a disconnected idea of who the character is, or what "works for your type".

You are a human, not a type. Type is super limiting. Your unique perspective and story gives the role life! Let’s stop the madness.

We’ll explore:

- Truly being SEEN in the industry, and in your life

- How to bring your authentic voice to your characters

- Speaking your authentic truth and advocating for yourself in your work and this crazy industry

- How to build rapport, trust and connection with people in the industry

- How we change the world and ourselves for the better when we let ourselves be seen

Each actor will receive Brette's two cents about all that makes you beautiful, compelling and the kind of human being we want to hire, to watch on our TVs, to drink a beer with (so to speak). The actor we want to watch. We will dig into what makes you shine on screen. And we will go way beyond type.

This intensive is for adults and mature teens (16+).

Limited to 12 students.

***Actors Connection provides readers for all events.

TESTIMONIALS:

"Brette's workshop Way Beyond Type was Way Beyond what I expected. This industry is filled with so much fear  so much unknown. What Brette does in that workshop is empower actors, not just for their career, but for themselves. She SEES us, and she puts the power back in our hands. That is rare to find. It’s like there is this secret that no one wants to share, and shes just willing to spill the tea. Spill the tea, Brette, spill the tea!"
- Tara Troy

"My life was changed by your “Way Beyond Type” class at Actors Connection. I just got new headshots back with everything applied that we talked about!!! (Especially the “LA hippie vibe” thing) Thank you so very much!"
 - Ginette Alaina Neveu

"I just wanted to sincerely thank you for such a wonderful masterclass earlier today. I really felt like we had such an amazing group, every student being so unique and different. You must be a psychic or something, because I felt like you understood me so very quickly and it made me feel like I’m not “crazy” for seeing myself the way that I do in this industry. Your feedback and words come off so incredibly genuine, and your humor combined with your energy is truly contagious. I can only hope that I come across more people like you in my future, and look forward to hopefully submitting for some of your future projects. Thank you for giving each and every student such individualized and special, honest advice."
- Samantha M.

"Thank you so much for your wonderful class. I learned so much from you today.
Your "Ask yourself these questions technique" is brilliant. I've been doing this a very long time, and I've never seen that, or heard that before. Not once. A valuable tool. indeed.
Also, I felt all your adjustments for the actors today were spot on."
- Chris Cardona
