NY Connection is a 3-Day SHOWCASE that’s jam packed with the GUARANTEED ATTENDANCE of INDUSTRY GUESTS who are the movers and shakers in the New York entertainment arena.

Whether you are considering a move to NYC or you already live here, this is the opportunity to guarantee yourself a place for networking, improving your audition skills and current material as well as showcasing your artistry and talent.

This is the perfect program for you to get your feet wet in the industry, introduce yourself to a wide variety of industry guests, capitalize on being a “fresh face” for new projects, be seen by some of New York’s Top Agents and Casting Directors and get a taste of what NYC may have in store for you and your future career.

For your agent showcases, you will receive both verbal and written feedback.

2pm - On Camera Film/TV Intensive

For this day, please prepare a film/TV scene of choice (2 minutes or less) that you feel best showcases your strengths as an actor. You will use this scene for your intensive and showcase.

For this day, you will be assigned a scene by Jeffrey to prepare for his intensive. For your afternoon showcase, please prepare a film/TV scene of choice (2 minutes or less) that you feel best showcases your strengths as an actor. If you don’t have your own scene, you can select  from the General Sides database (link located in your Actors Connection account upon registration).

What to Prepare:

For this showcase, please prepare a 15-30 second piece of commercial copy and a film/TV scene of choice (2 minutes or less) that you feel best showcases your strengths as an actor. You can select Commercial Copy from our online files or bring your own and a scene from the General Sides database (link located in your Actors Connection account upon registration), OR bring in your own 2-3 page scene (2 minutes or less. 

Please email jess@actorsconnection.com your scene choice AS AN ATTACHMENT (file should be labeled YourName_CHARACTER) by 5pm (EST) the DAY BEFORE the event.

• Please update your headshot and fill out the MY INFO section of your AC account upon registration.

• Arrive at least 10 MINUTES before your event is slated to start. Your host will give important information about the event at this time.

Erica Palgon

Erica Palgon of Erica Palgon Casting & Beyond is a Casting Director for all types of films, commercials, voice-over, TV, webseries, and theater casting. She has been casting for 25 years and loves the opportunity to collaborate with so many diverse creative people.

Erica’s commercial credits include: Comedy Central many promos including: Amy Schumer show, Broad City, Tosh.0, South Park, Secret Lives of Pets 2, Burger King, Twix, McDonalds, Subway, Twizzlers, Geico, Uber, Dave & Busters.

She has cast for countless top brands in her 25 years in the business. Recent commercials: Intel, Milkbone, Nature Made, T-Mobile, Google, Disney, Boars, Head, Target.

Erica expanded her love of collaborating, working freelance for several NYC casting companies. Grey Advertising casting for their top clients: Longhorn, Pantene, Gillette, Pringles, Febreze, Olive Garden, Trulicity, Invesco, Hasbro. She also freelances for Telsey & Co commercial department: cast for Discover, Dollar Shave Club, Uber GE…) and Kipperman Casting - commercials: Dunkin’, Macy’s, Applebees, Hyundai, Revlon, Fanduel, Firehouse Subs).

Jeffrey Dreisbach

Jeffrey Dreisbach, a seasoned Casting Director and esteemed partner at McCorkle Casting, Ltd., possesses a keen eye for identifying talent in emerging actors.

His remarkable abilities have played a pivotal role in the success of the casting company, responsible for over 100 Broadway and Off-Broadway productions, 65 feature films, and numerous television shows.

Prior to transitioning to casting, Jeff enjoyed a prolific two-decade-long career as an actor, showcasing his versatility in theatre, film, television, commercials, and voiceovers. Notably, he made his mark on Broadway with an impressive 500 performances as Lt. Kendrick in Aaron Sorkin's production of "A Few Good Men." His film credits include roles in "Splash," "Die Hard 3," and "The Thomas Crowne Affair," and he also portrayed Norman Van Buren in the NBC soap opera "Another World."

Drawing from his extensive experience on both sides of the audition process, Jeff now dedicates his expertise to helping actors navigate and advance their careers. His passion lies in assisting actors finding their confidence with auditions. He addresses technical challenges, acting choices, and reshapes the actors' perspectives on the audition process. Current offerings at Actors Connection include "Self-tape Workshops" and "Stage to Screen" classes.

Jeffrey Dreisbach extends his influence beyond workshops by hosting the popular podcast "Casting Actors Cast," boasting over 100,000 downloads. Additionally, his workbook/manual, "Conversation Pieces Out of the Studio," designed to guide actors to success in voiceovers, is a required reading in Acting BFA and MFA programs nationwide.
