Ally works as both a Casting Director and Associate Casting Director and has been a casting professional for over fifteen years, working in both film and television.

She's cast TV series like AMERICAN HORROR STORY, JANE THE VIRGIN (CW), WARRIOR NUN (Netflix), MURDERVILLE (Netflix), HALT AND CATCH FIRE (AMC), and we're excited to have her in teaching this online intensive focused on auditioning and booking guest star roles for television series and pilots.

Ally will assist you in connecting auditioning as an opportunity to do what you love to do: act. Trouble shooting what's in your way and working with you on developing strategies for your next auditions.

The event will start off with an informative Q&A, followed by your presentation of the scene with a reader on-camera in a group.

Be prepared to take feedback and adjustments.

This class is for adults (18+).

WHAT TO PREPARE:

For this event, please bring in your own TV scene of choice (no more than 2 minutes in length) that you feel best showcases your strengths as an actor. If you do not have your own scene, you can select a scene from the General Sides database (link located in your Actors Connection account upon registration).

Please email jess@actorsconnection.com your scene choice AS AN ATTACHMENT (file should be labeled YourName_CHARACTER) by 5pm (EST) the DAY BEFORE the event.

Please follow the procedures listed below:

• Please update your headshot and fill out the MY INFO section of your AC account upon registration.

• The room will be open 30 minutes before the event is scheduled to start. Please arrive at least 10 MINUTES before your event begins as your host will give important information about the event at this time.

• Instructions and the ZOOM link for access to this online event will be emailed to you in advance. If you have not received the link by one hour before the event, please reach out to registration@actorsconnection.com.

Ally Bader

Ally works as both a Casting Director and Associate Casting Director and has been a casting professional for over fifteen years, working in both film and television.

As an associate casting director, she most recently completed casting season 12 of American Horror Story which is airing now on FX, and is currently casting an indie feature film with Jennifer Brooks as casting directors. She spent three years as the lead casting associate to Jane Jenkins and Janet Hirshenson prior to their retirement, where she worked on multiple feature films for such directors as Ron Howard, Rob Reiner and Chris Columbus. Ally is a 2016 Heller Award nominee for Casting Associate of the Year, and was nominated for a 2015 Artios Award for her work with Bialy/Thomas and Associates on the pilot for AMCs Halt and Catch Fire. She was nominated for an Artios Award in 2024 for her work on Murderville for Netflix. She also spent 4 years on the Board of Directors for the Casting Society, and remains very involved with the organization volunteering her time on multiple committees.
