Our incredible panel includes:
Misha Calvert is an award-winning indie filmmaker and showrunner based in New York. She has created and sold two original series: STRUT (Revry) and ALL HAIL BETH (BRIC TV). She is currently prepping her feminist thriller RAGER as writer-director with Good Question Media attached to produce. She’s slated to direct the contemporary war drama JUMP LINE in 2024, and is writer-director on the climate change action film DIRT AND SKY currently in development. Her latest short film, PINK FLAGS, stars Raye and Sawyer Spielberg and is about to begin festivals.
Devereux Milburn is a New York City-based writer and director and the founder of BlindSpot Studios, an independent production company specializing in narrative films, short documentaries, music videos, and promotional pieces. His debut feature film, HONEYDEW, premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival and was hailed as "one of the best movies of 2021" by Esquire and USA TODAY. Devereux is currently in financing on his next feature film, THE OPTHAMOLOGIST, and is developing a feature adaption of the George Saunders short story "The 400-Pound CEO."
Rachel Myers is an award-winning filmmaker, Time-Warner-150 Artist and Tribeca alumni. Her film WENDY'S SHABBAT qualified for the Academy Awards and was broadcast on PBS. She is a winner of Ovation, NAACP, Broadway World and Streamy Awards, and inaugural recipient of the Shondaland-Women’s-Directing-
Liz Sargent is a Korean American adoptee whose award-winning work explores themes of adoption, disability and family. Her film TAKE ME HOME won the Julia S. Gouw Fellowship with CAPE and Janet Yang Production in addition to being Academy Award-qualifying. Festivals: Sundance Santa Barbara IFF, SXSW, with wins at LAAPFF Golden Reel Best Short & deadCenter Film Festival (Special Grand Jury Best Film).
Tyler Taormina is a film director based in Los Angeles whose debut film HAM ON RYE premiered at the Locarno Film Festival and went on to receive critical acclaim, including Best Films of the Year from The New Yorker, Rolling Stone, Slant Magazine and more. His follow up feature HAPPER'S COMET premiered at the 2022 Berlinale and won the Special Jury Prize at the BAFICI. His latest film, CHRISTMAS EVE IN MILLER'S POINT stars Michael Cera, Elsie Fisher, Francesca Scorsese and more, and is expected to premiere in 2024.

What to Prepare:
For this class, please bring in your own 2-3 page scene of choice that you feel best showcases your strengths as an actor. If you do not have your own scene, you can select a scene from the General Sides database (link located in your Actors Connection account upon registration).
Please email jess@actorsconnection.com your scene choice AS AN ATTACHMENT (file should be labeled YourName_CHARACTER) by 5pm (EST) the DAY BEFORE the event.

The room will be open 30 minutes before the event is scheduled to start. Please arrive at least 10 MINUTES before your event begins as your host will give important information about the event at this time.
