Don't miss this in person showcase with THREE top Casting Directors who cast for Film, TV and/or the Streaming Networks.
This event will start with a informative Q & A, then scenes with a reader ON CAMERA for feedback.
You have the option to bring in your own 2-3 page Film/TV scene, or select one from our General Sides database (link located in your Actors Connection account upon registration).

What to Prepare:
For this showcase, please bring in your own scene of choice (no more than 2 minutes in length) that you feel best showcases your strengths as an actor. If you do not have your own scene, you can select a scene from the General Sides database (link located in your Actors Connection account upon registration). IN ADDITION: Please bring TWO HARD COPIES of your scene - one highlighted FOR THE READER

Ashley-Lauren Elrod
As a Casting Director, Ashley is highly experienced in several areas of entertainment, arts, and media; ranging from acting, music, and dance to casting, directing, costuming, makeup artistry, and production design. Ashley possesses the unique and strong resume in which she began her journey over ten years ago at Columbia College Chicago, studying technical theater and acting which quickly led to her being paid for her talents while studying. All the while, interning for Chicago’s biggest talent agency, LTA Chicago in which she was also a signed talent. She’s worked alongside some of Hollywood’s most established as a performer, casting director, and production designer with the likes of Paul Haggis of ‘Crash’ and ‘Million Dollar Baby’, Kevin Pollack, Vince Vaughn, Kevin James, and David Dastmalchian, as well on productions for Shameless, The Mob Doctor, MTV’S ‘Underemployed’, Revlon, Clorox, Buzzfeed, Rover, The Chicago Code, and much more.
Visionary Woman has been very busy in regards to all things production! Casting commercials for Dove, First Inspires, Realtor.com and more, along with newly award winning film 'Appa Appa Appa' which will be showing at the Bushwick Film Festival on October 23rd in which Ashley production designed, film 'Perfume' which will be showing at the New York No Limits Film Festival in which she cast, and her first ever feature film that she had the pleasure of designing and assistant directing has been nominated for Best Thriller for The New York Film Awards.
Coming down the pipeline, she's happy to be producing her first ever feature film 'Boys Don't Cry' which is set to film in Atlanta in 2022 along with casting the for the upcoming feature NIK, while currently directing upcoming promotional campaigns for new clients, IPSY and Noom.
Ashley lives by the motto of Proverbs 29:18 in which states “where there’s no vision, the people perish” in which has helped her to create her own small production company to empower talent and productions that strive for diversity, inclusion, and change through the arts. To help empower those with big vision and aid it’s fruition. Her biggest goal is and will always be to empower others and their unique stories.
Ashley is also a proud board member, survivor speaker, and non-profit leader at the Chicago Children’s Advocacy Center, utilizing her talents and her personal story to help raise awareness, funding, and resources for fellow survivors to heal and thrive holistically, creatively, and entrepreneurially.

Angela Mickey
She enjoys working with veteran and up-and-coming creatives, helping to provide an individual plan to each casting process, as well as assistance with union regulations and talent payment guidelines. Angela has worked on hundreds of on camera commercial and voice over projects, as well as helped form the real people division.
Her recent theatrical projects include the Filipino movie musical The Girl Who Left Home, A Year and Change, ReRUN, AppleTV+ Get Rolling With Otis, Hallmark’s One Royal Holiday, Lifetime's The Holiday Fix Up, and Stalker’s Prey III: A Predator Returns.
Always looking for the new, undiscovered talent, Angela can be found conducting audition classes with actors nationwide. Winner of the 2019 Heller Award for Best Northeast Commercial and VO Casting.

Julia Catalano
Julia Catalano is a casting professional & theatre-maker based in Brooklyn, NY.
She graduated from Syracuse University's Department of Drama with a B.S. in Theatre Management where she trained under the CSA apprenticeship program.
Offices she worked with include Chrystie Street Casting (Not Okay, Rosaline, Janet Planet, Mo), McCarthy/Abellera (Awkwafina is Nora from Queens), and her home base: Gayle Keller Casting (Bros, The Big Door Prize, Life & Beth, English Teacher, Kinda Pregnant).
She most recently was the Casting Associate for The Mastermind, starring Josh O’Connor and Alana Haim, directed by Kelly Reichardt.
Additionally, she cast various community-based workshops and performances as a member of GrassRoots Art Collective.
