EVENT OVERVIEW:

This two-part class will delve into the accent sounds of pre- and post-Civil War America in order to give the modern working actor a knowledge base and skill set to produce high quality auditions with confidence.  

We will introduce the accent basic sounds in the first session with opportunities for live practice, then follow up in the second week with time to try actual scenes in these accents!

No need to prepare any materials for this event! - You'll receive course materials and scene sides for class work.

• The room will be open 30 minutes before the event is scheduled to start. Please arrive at least 10 MINUTES before your event begins as your host will give important information about the event at this time.

• Instructions and the ZOOM link for access to this online event will be emailed to you in advance. If you have not received the link by one hour before the event, please reach out to registration@actorsconnection.com.

Paula Vanlandingham

Paula is a linguist who has been coaching in film, TV, voice over and videogames for the last 12 years.

She trained at Lee Strasberg in NY and has a Master's degree is in Linguistic Anthropology as well. She speaks Spanish, French, German, Bosnian and Russian and is currently studying Italian.

Paula's worked on numerous TV/film productions and one of the films she coached won an Oscar in 2015 (British actor performing in American accent).

One of the most lucrative areas for her clients has been the voiceover and videogame industry.  The games she's coached have grossed over a billion dollars, with such marquis titles as Call of Duty, Wolfenstein II, Westworld, Star Wars Squadrons, and many others still in the pipeline!

Her mission is to get AS MANY ACTORS WORKING THIS YEAR AS POSSIBLE!
