I wasn’t always a headshot photographer.

But I have always been an artist, just like you. It’s the kid inside of us that loves to create, to explore and to be seen. I grew up dancing, performing in full length ballets and attended The Boston Conservatory for Dance, and eventually graduated from Point Park University for Musical Theatre and Dance. It was during this time, I also developed a strong passion for the beauty industry. 

While spending more than a decade in NYC as a performer, my “side” hustle became a career, and I can now count 19 years as a working New York City based Stylist.

Besides the industry training in NYC, I also spent a year in LA working inside a Top Manager’s office, getting up front experience on what it is that gets clients called in by Casting Directors. Upon returning to New York, I knew I wanted more and decided to finally make the decision to move behind the lens (having been in front of it for so long)! Having experienced what that means from all angles, I was confident that I could serve the acting community to its fullest extent. And indeed, I have.

I promise to guide you through the process, from what your goals are to how to choose wardrobe and of course hair and makeup (included in all rates)! We will work together to create a session that is relaxed, fun and delivers images that are natural moments showcasing your individuality, and let’s be honest- your brand of awesome.

• Arrive at least 10 MINUTES before your event is slated to start. Your host will give important information about the event at this time.

Jennifer Espensen

Jen has been in demand as a New York based Make-Up Artist for the past seventeen years, and made the move to Photographer in 2015. She is thrilled to put her love of the two together to offer actors a full service experience.  Her love of beauty, style and fashion collide with her many years of experience to create a highly skilled, passionate artist with a keen eye for detail.

Having worked for numerous color and skincare companies, assisted on National Ad Campaigns and Runway Shows, and Designed for Film and Video work, she now focuses her area of expertiese on Headshot work.  Intimately knowing the demands and expectation of both actors and business clients alike, Jen knows how to accentuate the positive in people, making them feel and look their best.  The results are images that reflect a natural, relaxed individual, comfortable in allowing themselves to truly be seen.
