Learn the ins and outs of what makes a self tape audition stand out, and get you the job.
Karie will take you through the basics of what you need to know in order to make a successful tape, and then delve into the nuances and performance techniques that will make your tape get noticed.
Week one will explore the key factors necessary for all on camera auditions. The class will watch a self-tape you have made previously and critique it discussing what aspects of the work and what aspects can be improved upon.
Week two you will make a self-tape with material Karie assigns to you using all the techniques learned in week one and then we will work on adjustments that could make the audition even more interesting and irresistible to casting.
Throughout the course of the two weeks, Karie we will cover everything you ever wanted to know about what makes a winning self tape audition, including:
-Proper preparation techniques
-Camera setup, lighting, sound, framing etc.
-How to adjust things based on the type of audition and what medium it is meant for.
-The best formats and platforms to use when sending completed tapes.
-What to do when taping environments aren't ideal and how to navigate those obstacle(s).
Karie will also discuss how virtual in person auditions differ from tapes.
