New! How To Create Self-Tapes That Book! 2-Week Online Class with Brette Goldstein, Casting Director

Wednesday, January 26, 2022, 2pm ET / 11am PT

This event is in the past.

Self-tapes are here to stay for the foreseeable future, and casting virtually has provided Brette with a unique perspective on what makes a tape stand out (in the best way possible).

In the first week of this class, you'll share a self-tape of your choice (2-3 page film/TV scene) for review.

Brette will provide individual feedback on best setup/framing practices, how to “pop” on screen, physically and energetically, and tips for good slates.

In week two, Brette will assign everyone sides to prepare a self-tape with the adjustments and feedback from week one to share in class.

You'll come out of this class feeling confident in your self-taping skills and your ability to leave a lasting impression.

What to Prepare:

For your first class, please prepare a self-tape of a 2-3 page scene of your choice that you feel best showcases your strengths as an actor. You can select a scene from the General Sides database (link located in your Actors Connection account upon registration), OR use your own 2-3 page scene. You will share this in class.
Please upload your self-tape to either YouTube or Vimeo so you can share the link with your host at the time of class.

For your second class, Brette will select sides for you to prepare in advance and self-tape based on your headshot and fully completed MY INFO section in your AC account. You will share this in class.

Please follow the procedures listed below:

  • Please update your headshot and fill out the MY INFO section of your AC account upon registration.

  • Arrive at least 10 MINUTES before your event is slated to start. Your host will give important information about the event at this time.

  • Instructions and the ZOOM link for access to this online event will be emailed to you in advance. If you have not received the link by 12pm (EST) the day-of the event, please reach out to registration@actorsconnection.com at least one hour PRIOR to the start of class.
