Free Online SEMINAR - See How the Alexander Technique Can Help You Find More Ease While Auditioning led by Melissa Brown, nationally certified Alexander Teacher

Auditioning can be very stressful. During an audition, actors can “get stuck in their heads,” judging themselves and worrying about how they are coming across. 

The Alexander Technique can help. A great audition can be energizing and allow you to be present, open and able to show what you can do.

In this free experiential workshop led by nationally certified Alexander Teacher Melissa Brown, you'll explore the FOUR “key moments” in auditioning. Melissa will share with you specific tools to release unnecessary tension and to calm and ground yourself as well as ways to find more ease and pleasure in the process.

You will also have an opportunity to work with these tools as well as some volunteers possibly also working in front of the group.

Wear comfortable clothes and have a chair available.

You may lie down on the floor so bring a mat if you need some cushioning and a few books to place under your head.

Melissa Brown

I am a nationally certified Alexander Teacher. I love working with actors and have been giving workshops in acting schools and at college acting programs over the past several years. I also teach weekly classes and private lessons to actors and other performers in my own studio - both online and in person. In addition, I have been invited to assistant teach weekly classes for undergraduate actors at two universities – NYU Tisch School for the Arts and Fordham University – where I have been teaching for four years. 

Before teaching the Technique, I was a civil rights lawyer, engaged in various social justice issues, including criminal justice, labor law rights and the rights of people with disabilities. I continue to devote a good deal of my practice to working with people with disabilities and with individuals who don’t normally have access to wellness programs.
