**Please note that an accompanist will not be provided. All actors will need to provide their own music for this session.**

What to Prepare:

For this seminar, please prepare a song OR a scene of choice that you feel best showcases your strengths as an actor. You can select a scene from the General Sides database (link located in your Actors Connection account upon registration), OR bring in your own 2-3 page scene. 

Please email jess@actorsconnection.com your scene choice AS AN ATTACHMENT (file should be labeled YourName_CHARACTER) by 5pm (EST) the DAY BEFORE the event.

Please follow the procedures listed below:

  • Please update your headshot and fill out the MY INFO section of your AC account upon registration.

  • Arrive at least 10 MINUTES before your event is slated to start. Your host will give important information about the event at this time.

  • Instructions and the ZOOM link for access to this online event will be emailed to you in advance. If you have not received the link by 12pm (EST) the day-of the event, please reach out to registration@actorsconnection.com at least one hour PRIOR to the start of class.

RJ Magee

Richard Magee is a professional casting director and talent manager based in New York City.

Through his own casting office, RJ Magee Casting, Richard has done freelance casting and/or been the resident casting directing for Children's Theatre of Charlotte, Iron Bridge Theatre, Arden Theatre Company, Top Hat Productions, Esther's Follies, The Girl Behind The Curtain Productions (Off-Broadway's Truffles), Flaviar, Camp Morning Wood: A Very Naked Musical, New City Stage Company, FunikiJam World Music, Childsplay Theatre, MainStreet Musicals: Philadelphia, and more. His most recent casting project, the hit reality series Theality TV, is currently streaming on Broadway On Demand and launches on Dekkoo on July 27th.

Richard began his career in entertainment as an actor and his acting work has been seen at many professional theaters across the country including Arizona Broadway Theatre, Dollywood Entertainment, and the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts in the world premiere Kerrigan and Lowdermilk musical "Flash of Time." He has been called upon to share expertise by serving as an entertainment industry adviser to prestigious market research and management consulting firms EY-Parthenon and Third Bridge. He also teaches masterclasses/seminars regularly in New York City at Actors Launchpad and Actors Connection. Richard is a proud member of the Music Theatre Educators Alliance and recently guest lectured at Weber State University and Elon University. He is the winner of the Alan Kosher Scholarship which allowed him to travel to Costa Mesa, California to shadow the company managers for 'The Lion King' national tour. Richard is currently an Associate Talent Manager for Baker Management in NYC where some of his recent client bookings include many of the nation's top regional theaters, national touring companies, NYC episodics, and various Broadway shows.

Richard is a graduate of Interlochen Arts Academy and holds a bachelor's degree in musical theatre from Temple University. He is currently an MFA Theatre Arts candidate at Minnesota State University Mankato.
