Spinning your wheels about how to really follow up and communicate in an authentic way, without being “too much?”

Casting director/coach Brette Goldstein and Monica McCarthy, an actor /filmmaker/ emotional intelligence workshop facilitator (global Fortune 500 companies including Google, AirBnB, Uber), will give you the tricks of the trade when it comes to creating and building relationships with casting directors, reps, producers, and “the other side of the table” in general.

This is an art in and of itself. Relationships are vital when it comes to building and sustaining your acting career.

Monica and Brette will help you access your unique emotional intelligence blueprint - communicating succinctly and effectively with empathy, humor, and business savvy.

Brette Goldstein

Brette has cast six television series (HBO, USA, LMN, Lifetime, History Channel, Investigation Discovery), over 50 independent films, 300 commercials, 100 plays, seven pilot presentations (including “Odd Mom Out” for Bravo) and various new media projects, and was the resident casting director at Washington, DC’s Folger Elizabethan Theatre for ten seasons.

Her recent projects include Season 2 of HBO's THE JINX and a movie for HULU.

Films Brette has cast have won awards and been official selections at most of the major film festivals, including Sundance, Tribeca and Cannes. Brette is the former Co-Producing Director of Washington Jewish Theatre, Production Manager at Washington Shakespeare Co., and Associate Producer of the Washington Theatre Festival.

She is currently working on four indie films in development and some commercials.

Monica McCarthy

Monica McCarthy is a New York City based actress and storyteller. She’s passionate about exploring timeless wisdom, identity, and purpose.

Acting: Broadway (understudy to Laura Linney & Alicia Silverstone), television (Blacklist, Mildred Pierce), film. and commercials.

Writing: Currently: M.A. Creative Writing & Literature, Harvard University (‘22), completing her play (Unfortunate Girls) based on the lives of Mary Wollstonecraft & Mary Shelley, and her first feature film.

Filmmaker: Currently: post-production for her co-created short, Alex & Sam’s Mixtape, pre-production for her short film, Survival Job, about Method acting & the CIA.

Teacher: On Acting: Decoding Shakespeare, Classic Castability. Guest lecturer (on ethics and feminism): Barnard, Columbia University

Facilitator: Hosted 300+ L&D workshops for global organizations on emotional intelligence, critical thinking, and creative problem solving, faculty at The School Of Life
