New! Online 2-Week HOW TO CREATE YOUR OWN FILM/TV PROJECTS with Award Winning Film Director/Creator MISHA CALVERT!

Saturday, April 17, 2021, 1pm ET / 10am PT

This event is in the past.

Do you have an idea for a TV series or a Film?

Not sure how to get started or who to speak with to develop it?

Actors Connection is thrilled to welcome one of NY's newest Film directors/producers/screenwriters, Misha Calvert sharing with you how to create your own film/TV projects.

This online 2 week class will arm you with the tools and information you need to get started.

One week before your first class, you'll start by emailing Misha your idea(s) for a project you want to create. She will read, evaluate, and give you notes on the strongest premise to choose from. From there, you'll take Misha's notes and come into your first class with an outline/treatment for your project or a script if you already have one written.

In your first class, Misha will go over the basics of producing your own work: owning the rights, concepting, developing the script, fundraising, hiring a producer, director, casting, etc.

You'll then share your pitch for your project as well as listen to your classmates pitches. Misha will also evaluate your outline/script and give basic feedback on what the project needs to succeed and what the clear, tangible next steps are. Class will finish with a Q&A and homework assigned.

In your second class, you'll bring in your completed homework that Misha assigned you in the week in between classes, whether it's hiring crew, rewrite on script, shot list, financing plan, etc. Misha will answer any questions that might have come up between classes and then you'll again work on your project pitches. From there, you'll split into breakout rooms of small groups to brainstorm/network on how to help you and your classmates connect to the people and resources needed for your projects. You'll wrap with a Q&A.

Don't miss this opportunity to learn from a pro!

Testimonial:

"I just wanted to let you know that Misha Calvert's class was fantastic. She was radically honest, able to tailor the class to the people in it and give each student individual attention. Easily one of the best class I've taken at Actor's Connection."
