New! ONLINE 2-Week TV Class with AMANDA RICHARDS, Director of Talent & Casting, SONY PICTURES TELEVISION

Saturday, April 10, 2021, 12pm ET / 9am PT

Actors Connection is proud to welcome Amanda Richards, the director of Talent & Casting at Sony Pictures Television Studios. For 6 years she has grown at the company, working on shows such as WHEEL OF TIME, PARTY OF FIVE, THE BOYS, DEADLY CLASS and ELECTRIC DREAMS.

Her new 2-week online class will replicate the "real world" television audition process and give you insider industry tips to help you book!

Your first week, you'll bring in a 2-3 pg. scene of your choice to work on. In your second week, you'll work on a scene assigned to you by Amanda.

You'll start off with an informative Q&A, followed by your presentation of the scene with a reader on-camera in a group. Be prepared to take feedback and adjustments.

During the event prepare to receive feedback or adjustments on some of the following topics:

• Material Selection
• Personal Branding
• Authenticity of choices
• Eye lines
• Focus
• Preparation
   

What to Prepare:

For your first class, please prepare a 2-3 page scene of your choice that you feel best showcases your strengths as an actor. You can select a scene from the General Sides database (link located in your Actors Connection account upon registration), OR bring in your own 2-3 page scene. 

Please email jess@actorsconnection.com your scene choice AS AN ATTACHMENT (file should be labeled YourName_CHARACTER) by 5pm (EST) the DAY BEFORE the event.

For your second class, Amanda will select sides for you to prepare based on your headshot and fully completed MY INFO section in your AC account.
Assignments will be emailed 1-3 days in advance. 

Please follow the procedures listed below:

• Please update your headshot and fill out the MY INFO section of your AC account upon registration.

• Arrive at least 10 MINUTES before your event is slated to start. Your host will give important information about the event at this time.

• Instructions and the ZOOM link for access to this online event will be emailed to you in advance. If you have not received the link by 12pm (EST) the day-of the event, please reach out to registration@actorsconnection.com at least one hour PRIOR to the start of class.

**Actors Connection classes and programming are for ADULTS (18+). With permission, some teens (14+) are allowed to take adult programming. To inquire about getting permission, please send an email to: info@actorsconnection.com**

Amanda Richards

Amanda is the Vice President of Talent & Casting at Sony Pictures Television Studios 

For 7  years she has grown at the company, working on shows such as “Wheel of Time”, “Party of Five”, “The Boys”, “Deadly Class” and “Electric Dreams”. Amanda speaks on panels and teaches all of the country including a master class at Elon University. She is also the president of the “Emerging Professionals” on the Sony lot. Amanda has a BA in Theatre and Marketing from Emerson College and is currently pursuing her M.A. in Leadership for Creative Fields at the Savannah College of Art and Design.
