MUSICAL THEATER DEMO REEL CLASS - 3 Weeks of Coaching by Bloc NYC Agent JIM DALY + Filming 2 Songs

** This is an intermediate to advanced class.** Actors need previous musical theatre audition and performance experience.

In today's digital world, it is important to have video footage of your musical theatre clips. Take your 32 bars outside of the audition room and online where you can submit a professional audition clip to casting directors, agents and managers.

In this 3-week class, you'll have the opportunity to work with Bloc NYC Legit Agent JIM DALY to create new footage to develop and showcase your musical theatre demo reel.

Week 1: You'll learn the basics of auditioning on camera: where to look, important notes on acting and singing for the camera in the audition process. All performers will present selections from their book, and the instructor will narrow down to a suggested 2 song selections for production per actor. New songs or cuts may be suggested to work on between weeks 1 and 2.

Week 2:  Another open class of rehearsals, perfecting your 2 song selections.

Week 3: Private one-on-one coaching and filming.  We film your 2 songs with 4K video, professional lighting and sound. Audio mixing is done in post-production for the perfect balance. 

Final Deliverable: Two individual songs + your reel with headshot and titlecard delivered in 1 week.

You will have the same professional accompanist throughout your 3-week class and filming for consistency.

Always bring a hardcopy of your headshot/resume to class for feedback purposes.

INSTRUCTOR BIO:

JIM DALY has headed the legit department at Bloc NYC for 10 years.  He has clients in many Broadway shows including HAMILTON, CATS, SUNSET BLVD, ALADDIN, MISS SAIGON and HELLO DOLLY! as well as national tours including BEAUTIFUL, AN AMERICAN IN PARIS, THE KING & I, WICKED, and both female leads on the Int'l Tour of WEST SIDE STORY. His clients also make regular appearances in episodics ranging from The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt to Law & Order: SVU as well as major studio & independent feature films.  Jim received his BFA from the University of Michigan.

He has clients in most hit Broadway shows including HARRY POTTER, SPAMALOT, KIMBERLY AKIMBO, HOW TO DANCE IN OHIO, & JULIET, HAMILTON, ALADDIN, and MOULIN ROUGE!
