5pm. You can't get the gig unless you nail the audition!

Don't miss this refreshing and inspiring intensive that will hone your audition material and presentation to peak levels, whether you want to work on new monologues, or breath new life into pieces already in your repertoire.

As a Shakespeare Theatre veteran, Mr. Discher will workshop Shakespeare pieces in the morning and contemporary pieces in the afternoon using his unique perspective as a long-time director, casting director and acting coach. He will show you how to get the most out of Shakespeare's text with scansion, reveal hidden clues in the text, hone your focus, and tap into the emotional life of the piece.

His attention to detail, specificity and active story-telling will help shape journey of your contemporary work as well. Finally, Mr. Discher will share tricks of the trade from his twenty-five years behind the casting table. He knows what makes an audition work and what the people behind the table are looking for.

Actors will finish the course with contrasting Shakespeare and contemporary audition pieces they are confident with and can perform with passion and precision.
