From one of the busiest Broadway casting offices in NY, Actors Connection is thrilled to have Peter teaching this ONE NIGHT ONLY Musical Theater Audition Master Class.

For this Master Class, please prepare 2 contrasting 16 bar cuts and please bring your book as Peter may want to hear something additional.

The evening will start off with a Q & A, and then each actor will perform for Peter using your prepared material in a group format. He will coach, give direction and work your material over the course of the evening.

Recent credits include: Marvin's Room, The Cherry Orchard, Love, Love, Love (Roundabout), Wonderful Town (LA Opera), Nice Fish (London's West End / St. Ann's Warehouse), Cat on a Hot Tin Roof (London's West End), as well as the original national tours of Fun Home and Cabaret. Prior to joining Jim's office, he was the executive assistant to the head of the talent department at Innovative Artists. He assisted producer Ellen M. Krass on the film of Stephen Sondheim's Company at the New York Philharmonic, directed by Lonny Price. He also assisted Mr. Price on the documentary Best Worst Thing That Ever Could Have Happened. Peter studied at the Walnut Hill School for the Arts, NYU Tisch School of the Arts/CAP21, and holds a B.F.A. in musical theatre from The Boston Conservatory.

Peter Van Dam

Peter joined Tara Rubin Casting in 2018 as a Casting Director. He is the recipient of two Artios Awards for excellence in casting. Credits include Six (Broadway/NationalTours), The Phantom of the Opera (Broadway), The Band’s Visit (National Tour), Sing Street (New York Theatre Workshop/The Huntington), Chasing Rainbows (Paper Mill Playhouse), Something Clean (Roundabout Theatre Company), Whisper House (The Civilians), Kismet (GranadaTheatre/Santa Barbara Symphony), and I’m Still Here (New York Public Library for the Performing Arts – Billy Rose Theatre Division benefit). Upcoming projects include Broadway revivals of Pal Joey and 42nd Street.

He began his casting career at Jim Carnahan Casting / Roundabout Theatre Company, where his Broadway credits as associate casting director include Tootsie, Head Over Heels, Angels in America, Farinelli and the King, The Cherry Orchard, as well as The Beast in the Jungle (Vineyard Theatre), Chess (The Kennedy Center), Wonderful Town (LA Opera), Nice Fish (A.R.T./St. Ann’s Warehouse/West End), and Cat on a Hot Tin Roof( West End).

Originally from Portland, Maine, Peter studied theatre at the Walnut Hill School for the Arts and New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, and holds a BFA in musical theatre from The Boston Conservatory. He has taught classes and workshops at the New Studio on Broadway - NYU, Boston Conservatory, Ithaca College, CAP21, The Growing Studio, Broadway Workshop, Actors Connection, among others. He is a proud member of CSA and will serve as a Tony Awards voter for the upcoming season.
