FREE for Parents! - Getting Your Kid/Teen Started in Showbiz

Sunday, December 6, 2015, 11am ET / 8am PT

This event is in the past.

Discover all you need to know to start your child's career in showbiz! Learn about the "secrets" behind the success of young actors, each had a different career path to stardom in this busy and fast industry that can prove to be confusing for youth and parents.

Get ready for tips, tricks, and tools that you can use in the comfort of your own home to get your child on-camera or on-stage, and learn about opportunities to Showcase with New York's BEST Casting Directors, Talent Agents, and Managers.

For parents with kids working in showbiz to those who's children want to break in, the answer to the following questions will be shared by Walid Chaya, Actors Connection KIDS & TEENS Program Director:

- What's the secret behind a successful headshot? - New York or Los Angeles? - How can my child have a resume without credits? - Do I need an agent or manager? How do I get one? - Where can I find auditions? ...and many more!

Walid will also discuss the current casting season, including an intro to the hustle and bustle of upcoming Fall season castings. We will also chat about ways to build relationships with "movers and shakers" in the business and how to take your child's career to the next level.

While this event is for parents, we do have a special event for your child to attend at the same time! Your Kid or Teen can try our "Commercial Casting & Agent/Manager Youth Showcase"" which begins 45 minutes before this event -- they can come as they are and we'll take care of everything.

You're welcome to bring your child's headshot/resume or portfolio for feedback, and if don't have anything to share at this time, that's fine too, come as you are and we'll help you get started.

Whether your child is interested in acting for fun or in being the next "child star", you'll find the answers to all of your questions and more at this complimentary seminar.
