2 Week FEATURE FILM CLASS with David Vaccari CSA, CD, Telsey + Co.

Here's your chance to work with one of the NY's top film casting directors.

This 2 week class focuses on auditioning on camera and will focus on Film sides which David will "cast" in advance. All aspects of working on-camera in film will be covered fully by David including audition tips and techniques, and answers to every question you were ever afraid to ask!

David is currently working on casting two independent films. His film projects scheduled for release this year include "The Intern" with Robert DeNiro, "Focus" with Will Smith, "A Most Violent Year" with Jessica Chastain, and "Song One" with Anne Hathaway.

His most recent TV projects include the pilot, "Sharing" for NBC, "Penny Dreadful" for Showtime and "Flesh & Bone" for Starz. He most often casts for film, TV and commercials but often contributes to the casting of plays and musicals.

Previous TV credits include the CBS pilots "Tad Quill" with Matthew Broderick and "Ordained" with Sam Neill, as well as "Looking" for HBO, Jonathan Demme's "Line of Sight" , "A Gifted Man" "Smash" and "The Big C".

His work in theater includes the casting of "Rent", "The Capeman", "Hedwig", "Martin Short- Fame Becomes Me" and "Hairspray" as well as "GlenGarry GlenRoss" and "The Cryptogram" with David Mamet and "A Second Hand Memory" and "Writer's Block" with Woody Allen.

David Vaccari

David Vaccari’s new venture is as an independent casting director working on commercials, film, and television. Having previously worked for 27 years with Telsey and Company he is excited to start his own company.

His film projects include casting for “ Respect” with Jennifer Hudson “The Intern” with Robert DeNiro, “Focus” with Will Smith, “The Kitchen" with Melissa McCarthy, “Friends With Kids”, “Howl”, “Jonah Hex” and in addition, three films with Gus Van Sant, including “Restless”, “Paranoid Park” and “Finding Forrester” with Sean Connery .Other films include “Rachel Getting Married”,“Then She Found Me”, “Across the Universe”, “Ira and Abby”,“Keane”, “The Bone Collector” with Denzel Washington, and “Pieces of April”, which boasts an Oscar nomination for Patricia Clarkson. Over the years he contributed to casting for many TV pilots including “This Is Us” for NBC and other TV projects include “I’m Dying Up Here,”,“Penny Dreadful”, “Nightcap”, “A Gifted Man”, "House of Cards” & NOS4A2.

His work in theater includes, the innovative original productions of “Rent”, “The Capeman” with Paul Simon, “Hedwig”,“Martin Short- Fame Becomes Me” and “Hairspray” .In terms of plays, he worked on casting with David Mamet for “GlenGarry GlenRoss” and “The Cryptogram” as well as Eric Bogosian for “Humpty Dumpty” and “Talk Radio”and with Woody Allen for “A Second Hand Memory” and “Writer’ s Block”.
 

David teaches audition technique and acting classes at Brown University/ Trinity Rep as well as at New York University’s film and television program. He is a member of the Casting Society of America and was nominated twice for their Artios award for excellence in casting.
