Looking for representation during a pandemic is no easy feat and you need feedback to make sure you are understanding how different people in the industry think about your skillset and marketability - that's why we are launching ONLINE AGENT SHOWCASES.

Showcase to THREE legit agencies in NYC and get immediate feedback on your performance so you can continue to make smarter and more powerful choices in this ever-changing career.

You'll also receive written feedback that will be emailed to you 1-3 days after the event to provide even more clarity on your work.

This panel includes:

- Melissa Bormann, CESD Talent Agency

- Cynthia Katz, Gotham Talent Agency

- Lauren McLaughlin, Bloc NYC

What to Prepare:

For this showcase, please prepare a monologue OR a scene of choice that you feel best showcases your strengths as an actor. You can select a scene from the General Sides database (link located in your Actors Connection account upon registration), OR bring in your own 2-3 page scene. 

Please email jess@actorsconnection.com your scene choice AS AN ATTACHMENT (file should be labeled YourName_CHARACTER) by 5pm (EST) the DAY BEFORE the event.

 

Please follow the procedures listed below:

  • Please update your headshot and fill out the MY INFO section of your AC account upon registration.

  • Arrive at least 10 MINUTES before your event is slated to start. Your host will give important information about the event at this time.

  • Instructions and the ZOOM link for access to this online event will be emailed to you in advance. If you have not received the link by 12pm (EST) the day-of the event, please reach out to registration@actorsconnection.com at least one hour PRIOR to the start of class.

**Actors Connection classes and programming are for ADULTS (18+). With permission, some teens (14+) are allowed to take adult programming. To inquire about getting permission, please send an email to: info@actorsconnection.com**

Melissa Bormann is with CESD in the theatrical department covering television, film, and theater.

CESD currently represents clients in STRANGER THINGS, PREACHER, MAZE RUNNER: THE SCORCH TRIALS, HOMELAND, BLUE BLOODS, ELEMENTARY, THE GOOD WIFE, UNBREAKABLE KIMMY SCHMIDT, THE MYSTERIES OF LAURA, THE FORGOTTEN, Broadway's HAMILTON, and many more.

With over 25 years of experience, Cynthia represents actors for film, TV, theatre and commercials

Her talent includes Tony Award nominees and television's most recognized characters that have current recurring roles on "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt","The Path", "Blue Bloods", "Madam Secretary","House of Cards", and "The Americans".  

Recent roles include "The Good Wife","Blacklist","Unforgettable","Elementary", "Person of Interest" and "Blindspot".

Gotham Talent Agency's theater projects have included "Chicago", "Finding Neverland", "Jersey Boys", "Wicked","Fun Home","Dr. Zhivago", "Amazing Grace", "The Audience", "Newsies", "Phantom","Matilda", Jesus Christ Superstar" and many more.

Lauren McLaughlin

Formerly at Bloc NY, Lauren McLaughlin recently joined the Legit Department at The Talent House. Most recently, her clients can be seen on Broadway in FROZEN, HAMILTON, MOULIN ROUGE to name a few. In addition to her clients on Broadway, she often has talent featured on television (The Tick, The Blacklist, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, Law & Order, Succession, etc.) as well as in upcoming feature films. Lauren received her BA in Theatre from Boston College.
