First time offered!  Don't miss this this one-night workshop to sharpen and improve your audition repertoire with stage director Joey Murray.  This is the ideal workshop for the musical theatre performer looking to give their audition book a major facelift.  Excavate your audition book, and find new audition material chosen specifically for you, while finding new techniques to improve and uplift the material you already have.  This workshop/bootcamp provides professional performers with unique insight into the art of finding material custom fit for you, while in a safe, empathetic and nurturing environment.  The class is led by New York based director Joey Murray, a working theatre and artistic director who has auditioned thousands of New York actors throughout his career.

JOEY MURRAY, STAGE DIRECTOR

Murray is a New York City based theatre, concert and music video director whose work has been seen at performing art centers, regional theaters and arenas all over the United States and China.  He recently directed Illuminati Lizards From Outer Space at Signature Theatre as part of The New York Musical Festival (NYMF).  Selected directing credits include: Medicine The Musical at Here Arts Center; ’68: A New American Musical (Theatre Row/NYMF); Hair (50th Anniversary Production) at Pentangle Arts; Godspell at ArtisTree’s Grange Theatre; Cabaret at Pentangle Arts; The Mystery of Edwin Drood at Fordham University; the regional tour and Queens Theatre production of Polkadots: The Musical; and Holidays at the Hard Rock! featuring renowned artist Linda Eder at Hard Rock Arena.  He served as Interim Artistic Director for Jenny Wiley Theatre, eastern Kentucky’s longest operating professional theatre, where he directed numerous reimagined productions, including: Disney’s Tarzan, Footloose, Oliver!, and The Robber Bridegroom, among many others.  Murray served as Associate Director for the Broadway-bound production of CAN-CAN at Paper Mill Playhouse, and has been resident director for The Broadway Dollsan award-winning concert experience featuring a cast of the most in-demand women on Broadway.  He is a music video and creative director for Element Music, an NYC-based entertainment company featuring some of the music industry’s leading musicians.  He is a regular guest lecturer, coach and panelist at numerous New York studios.  Murray is a graduate of Catholic University, and an associate member of SDC.
