New! HOSTING IN THE NEW LANDSCAPE OF TELEVISION - 2 Week Hosting and Expert Event with Risa Tanania, Casting Director and Development Producer of The House That Casting Built

Thursday, June 29, 2017, 7pm ET / 4pm PT

This event is in the past.

Television is no longer what it used to be! The role of a "host" is now a difficult one, walking the line between organic reality and entertaining/informational. In this workshop, you will learn how to break old habits, find your rooted self, and still get the words across in a commanding way. Don't believe it can happen? Take the class! It can!

You'll get an overview of the industry as it stands, including what casting directors are now looking for, the new search for talent from a casting directors perspective, audition styles and what you can do to improve your chances of booking work. Building your Hosting skills will be the focus and Risa will cover interview techniques as well as copy critiques on camera, so you can see your progression over the weeks.

This class is full of industry resources, contacts, and tips!

Limited to 12 actors.

***Your work will be video taped as a digital file. Within one week after this intensive, you will receive an email with the file to watch and view your work.***

Risa Tanania is a casting director and development producer. She got her start at the University of Iowa with a Masters in Inter-Media Studies and left soon after for television production in New York. She has cast (hosts, actors, experts and striking every day people) and developed shows for major networks such as FOX, Bravo, MTV, HGTV, Discovery, Lifetime and STYLE. She believes the new climate of TV is not just a guilty pleasure, but rather a space for great stories to be told. Through her new talent and development company, The House That Casting Built, Risa hopes to achieve her proudest moment; when television (her first love), accurately reflects its true audience...with all cultures, colors and communities equally represented. Until then, she will be working tirelessly to get there.
