All Day THEATER INTENSIVE with Alaine Alldaffer, Head Casting Director, Playwrights Horizons

Saturday, January 11, 2020, 10am ET / 7am PT

This event is in the past.

Don't miss this fast paced and fun day working with this top casting director on storytelling and character development. Alaine's focus will be on strengthening your acting skills by using well written theater text.

In your morning session, the emphasis will be on process; Making choices that tells the best story for the character while simultaneously serving the story overall. After a lunch break, you'll spend the afternoon working on new contrasting scenes. These scenes will be assigned prior to the lunch break. The goal is to take what you've learned from the morning session and bring the work to next level in the afternoon session.

This is a creative workout for brain and the spirit in a supportive and judgment free environment.

For this all day intensive, Alaine will select sides for you to prepare based on your headshot and fully completed MY INFO section in your AC account. The event will start off with an informative Q&A, followed by your presentation of the scene with a reader on-camera in a group. Be prepared to take feedback and adjustments.

Assignments will be emailed 1-3 days in advance from sides@actorsconnection.comPlease bring in TWO copies of your sides - one for you, and one for your reader (with the reader's lines highlighted).

Always bring a hardcopy of your headshot/resume to class for feedback purposes.

Testimonials

Recently, I worked with Alaine Alldaffer in her first all day class at AC.  I left the room wanting to work for days and days after.  Just like that.  Alaine is exceptional, urging you to fly and then tugging you back into a better balance, with a high-energy, ensemble feel all around.  A class well worth it - for a whole day!  Take it.  You'll grow.  Thanks.
