Wednesday, February 6, 2019, 7:00pm
Do you need help fine tuning your Musical Theatre "book"?
For many years Dr. Bryan Wade has developed professional relationships with NYC casting directors and talent agents and as a result, he has gained first-hand knowledge as to what is - and what is not - successful in the audition room! Dr. Wade will help you revamp your audition book to have the best pieces posisble in your repertoire.
For Class #1: Please bring in your current audition book. Each actor will perform at least (2) 32-bar cuts -- these songs can be songs that you've had in their book or new ones you would like to try! Bryan will assign new material at the end of class to add to or replace current material!
For Class #2: Please bring in cuts from new Musical Theater material based on suggestions from Bryan and/or research on their part based on parameters discussed in Class #1. Audition performance techniques will be explored in master class format, as each actor performs for the class. A brief discussion of Pop/Rock will end the class in order to help the participants prepare at least one Pop/Rock song for Class #3.
For Class #3: Please bring in at least one - two pop/rock songs (audition cuts). This can be either new material or songs that you already have in your book. Audition performance techniques specific to Pop/Rock auditions will be explored in master class format, as each person performs for the class.
Class ends with wrap-up and Q&A at the close.
WHO THIS CLASS IS FOR:
1) If you need to work on/improve songs you already have to better prepare yourself for more successful auditions.
2) If you would like to replace songs with similar type songs better suited for YOUR SPECIFIC BRAND.
3) If you would like to add songs that you might be missing (but you don't have a 1980s rock song, and you want one!)
4) If you need to learn how to mark your music in a manner that insures the accompanist plays the song the way you want AND to learn how to more effectively communicate to the accompanist for a more successful audition performance.
