Judy is a fabulous CD that casts for film, television and theater and recently called in FIVE actors she met in her seminar in January.

Judy has been casting in New York City since 1993. Recent film casting includes: DYNAMITE: A CAUTIONARY TALE(w/Ian Harding, Evanna Lynch, Chaske Spencer, Brendan Sexton III, Leo Fitzpatrick, & Carol Kane), COPENHAGEN(Slamdance Audience Award, w/Gethin Anthony, Frederike Dahl, Sebastian Armesto, & Tamzin Merchant), DRAWING HOME, TIGER LILY ROAD & THE WORD. THE IMMACULATE RECEPTION, a short directed by Charlotte Glynn, recently premiered at Sundance. She has associate-produced several independent features, and was the NY Casting Associate on SHORTBUS, NOWHERE TO GO BUT UP and worked on SOMETHING'S GOTTA GIVE and MEAN GIRLS. She worked as the NY Casting Director for Carsey-Werner in the 1990s, working on such TV series as MEN BEHAVING BADLY, GRACE UNDER FIRE, and THAT 70S SHOW. She also cast audiobooks for Simon & Schuster from 1996-2001. Casting on Broadway and off, she currently casts for the Mint Theater Company, LAByrinth Theater Company, Partial Comfort, HERE, At Hand, & Project Y, and past collaborations with Rattlestick & A.R.T. Regional work includes Humana Festival, San Francisco Playhouse, Kitchen Theatre, & Dorset Theatre Festival. She is a producer on BILLY & RAY, will premiere in NYC, directed by Garry Marshall. She is an adjunct Asst. Professor at Columbia University Film School's MFA program, and is a former faculty member at Harlem School of the Arts.

Judy Bowman

Casting since 1993, Judy is a NY based casting director who concentrates on film & theater and has also cast several webseries, animated projects, and commercials. She was nominated for an Artios Award for Best Webseries Casting for "Karl Manhair: Postal Inspector".  

Recent feature film casting:  "Block Island", "No Alternative", & "Love and Everything in Between"

FILM/TV: Hurricane Bianca, One Moment, Separation, Lost Cat Corona, Gold StarCopenhagen; Redemption in Cherry Springs(Hallmark), Big Dogs(Amazon).  

RECENT THEATER:  Justice, Four Women: Nina Simone(both for Arizona Theatre Company), Antigone(Cleveland Play House), Bina’s Six Apples(CTC & The Alliance/Eric Ting), Teenage Dick(Woolly Mammoth/Huntington/Pasadena), Where We Belong(tour), Thirst(Dorset Theatre Fest/Theresa Rebeck), & several Bway/Off Bway productions.  Collaborations with Humana Festival, Merrimack, Kitchen Theatre, San Francisco Playhouse, A.R.T.

Her past work includes casting audiobooks for Simon & Schuster, several animated series and original programming (PBS, SciFiChannel) casting TV in NY for Carsey-Werner, Latin-American theater projects with INTAR and LAByrinth, co-cast David Mamet's "The Old Neighborhood" on Broadway, and was the dedicated CD for American Repertory Theatre(2003-2008).

She is an Adjunct Asst. Professor in the MFA Film School at Columbia University, and was on faculty at Harlem School of the Arts for 3 years. She is always on the cutting-edge of finding new talent, specializing in specific language skills, ethnicities, providing opportunities for ethnically and physically diverse casts. She has a hands-on approach with new clients and new projects.
