FREE SEMINAR - ACTORS LOOKING TO PURSUE REAL ESTATE led by Bohemia Realty Group owner and writer/actor/producer Sarah Saltzberg

Thursday, June 13, 2013, 12pm ET / 9am PT

This event is in the past.

Please join Bohemia Realty Group owner and writer/actor/producer Sarah Saltzberg (co-creator/star of "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee," co-creator/star of off-Broadway's "Don't Quit Your Night Job", and co-writer of the off-Broadway comedy "Miss Abigail's Guide to Dating, Mating, and Marriage") in a FREE SEMINAR where she will be discussing opportunities for actors looking to pursue real estate as a side job.

During this FREE event, Sarah will discuss how learning the business of real estate can not only help actors understand the business of the entertainment industry, but provide the financial security that's often elusive in the theater world. Sarah's company consists almost exclusively of actors, writers and musicians, and for year after year they've continued to successfully lead lives following both their passion and the money in real estate. A starving actor chooses to starve - the money is there!

During This Free 90-Minute Workshop, Sarah will discuss: - the process of becoming a sales agent - the in depth training agents receive so they can go out and immediately start closing - how to balance real estate with the entertainment world - the exclusive listings she and her team have cultivated over the past ten years – no competition from hundreds of other brokers all over the city - the concept of the independent contractor - the ability to work when you want, and take jobs out of town when it suits you - the ability to work in concentrated neighborhoods on many buildings at once – most of Sarah's listings are in Harlem, Washington Heights, Inwood and Brooklyn, so showing is efficient - the team mentality and having the support of the group - the luxury and confidence that comes with making money! Get new headshots, take a vacation, turn down that non paying gig at Florida state!

A note from Sarah: Eleven years ago, I was a struggling actress trying to raise money for a downtown show I helped create called "C-R-E-P-U-S-C-U-L-E." On the advise of a friend, I decided to get my sales agent's license and rent some apartments over the summer - thinking I would make some quick money for the show and move on. I ended up loving the real estate business, and even after "C-R-E-P-U-S-C-U-L-E" became "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee" and I was living my dream of appearing on Broadway in a role I created, I continued to pursue what would become a second career.

Last year, with my partner Jon Goodell, I opened my own real estate firm on 113th Street and Frederick Douglass Blvd - Bohemia Realty Group. Named for the artistic history of our agents as well as the emerging upper Manhattan neighborhoods we service, we're looking to expand our company to include other similarly minded artists who value their creative background and would like to find a way to monetize that in the business world. It has been incredibly liberating for myself and for many of my agents to have another source of income, and it's empowering to be able to pick and choose the theatrical jobs you want to take because you are drawn to them creatively and not because you need the money. Hope to see you there! - Sarah Saltzberg
