He has had clients work at most every major regional and Off-Broadway theater including The Guthrie, Old Globe Theatre, La Jolla Playhouse, The Goodman Theatre, Hartford Stage, Roundabout Theatre Co, Lincoln Center Theatre, Second Stage, New York Theatre Workshop, Primary Stages, Classic Stage Company and Goodspeed Musicals. A former actor, Joel started his industry business career as a casting director followed by a position as a Business Representative at AEA.
