Saturday, January 10, 2015, 12pm ET / 9am PT

This event is in the past.

Here's a RARE opportunity to meet and work with one of NY's TOP Film directors who is currently starting production on his next film starring Chris Messina! He also just finished shooting the web series pilot, Yoga Schmoga, which has become a pilot presentation for cable TV.

Tom's first feature film, FAIRHAVEN, premiered last year at TRIBECA and stars Chris Messina, Sarah Paulson, and Rich Sommer! FAIRHAVEN also went on to win the audience award at the Independent Film Festival of Boston.

He also just wrapped his second feature film, set to hit the festival circuit next year, and he has SEVERAL NEW FILMS in development, all with roles to be cast and he is looking for new talent.

Tom will select sides based on your HS/resume submission which you will be emailed and prepare in advance. For the intensive, you'll start off with a Q&A, and then Tom will begin working with you with a reader, on-camera, in a group format. Be prepared for feedback and adjustments as Tom will coach and critique your work, tweak your material and share invaluable information.

Tom is a New York based independent filmmaker who's first feature, Fairhaven, which starred Chris Messina (Mindy Project, Newsroom), Sarah Paulson (American Horror Story, 12 Years A Slave) and Rich Sommer (Mad Men), premiered at the 2012 Tribeca Film Festival. Fairhaven was bought for North American distribution by Starz Digital Media and went on to win the audience award at the prestigious Independent Film Festival of Boston as well as the Best Feature at The New Hampshire Film Festival and it was the closing night film at The Provincetown Film Festival. Fairhaven was released theatrically in January of 2013 and received a rave review from Stephen Holden of the New York Times who said:

"There isn't a dishonest moment in, Fairhaven, Tom O'Brien's piercing wistful portrait of three long time buddies…..a beautifully acted, directed and edited slice of New England life."

Tom's second feature, Manhattan Romance, is currently in post production and will hit the festival circuit in the fall. It stars Katherine Waterston who just wrapped production as the female lead opposite Joaquin Phoenix in PT Anderson's latest, Inherent Vice, Caitlin Fitzgerald (Masters of Sex) and Gaby Hoffman (GIRLS).

Tom is co-creater and writer/director of a new web series, Yoga Schmoga, which starts production this July and he also has three feature films in different stages of development which will begin production in the next year.
